Hey all, I just flashed my v3re with jcandre MP. Worked great! However, the my favs is now gone from my phone's home screen (to be expected) is there any way to keep the my favs on the phone when flashing a MP? Is there a seperate my favs software i need to add?

I am by no means an expert about MyFaves (I've never had a need to use it,) but from what I've heard, MyFaves has to be enabled in the MP. I don't think there's a way to add it to an MP that doesn't have it.
I could be wrong, but that's my understanding.
Well, after thinking about it, maybe you could just flash certain code groups of your original backup. I'm not sure if that would work, and it may be risky. I'm just brainstorming. But you could try CG2 (the flex) or CG1 (the firmware.)
Or maybe I'm completely off. Just ideas.
Whatever you do, make sure to back up before you do anything experimental.

I too had those ideas, thanks for throwing them out there! I actually tried just flashing the cg1 and cg2 from my original backup file, but I am using flash $ backup, and when i did that it erased everything on my phone and only loaded cg1 and cg2...phone no work...lol so i reflashed the phone again now im back to where i was when i started this thread. But come to think about it, I dont think you HAVE to HAVE the my favs circle thing on your homescreen in order to use it. I mean if you have your favs allready selected, everytime you call one the same rate should apply.....at least i would think so. Maybe a myfavs user on here will chime in and give his/her 2 cents. Thanks again Danation!

That's a good question. I agree with you, I doubt the phone's software messes with the billing of the "faves."
When you just want to flash a single code group, I think you have to split the .shx file with SHXCodec. I haven't tried it yet... but when I get a chance, maybe I will test that method.
No problem, I'm happy to help, though I wish I could do more.
Does anybody have MyFaves that knows more about this?

UPDATE: Did a good bit of research on some other phone forums, and found out you DO NOT need to have the my fav bubble graphics on your phone to have a my favs plan (even though tmobile may try to say different). Since my favs can be setup and managed online through tmobile's website through your account, there really is no need to have it on your phone (just quicker, or for those without internet). The favs numbers are stored in tmobiles network, not just on your phone. so good news!

Yes that is right, billing has nothing to do with the bubble people and you can alter contacts on the T-Mobile customer page, as far as i have heard. The Bubbles are an applet or corolet, but part of the cg1 and cg2 , so not to be restored by only the parts of the flex. we tried a lot with the myfaves v3r, and never got it to work with out the the T-Mobile firmware r3443u2. Same will be here for the v3r r3442A. :(
