I have done some messing around with the AT&T Navigator aGPS application on the AT&T V9x and thought I would share what I have found.
I have done the following seem edits:

offset 49 bit 5 - AGPS Icon:
This either hides or shows the icon. It seems that hiding the icon has the same effect as turning off the aGPS. Meaning that when it is hidden I am unable to use the service, while searching for GPS the status bar freezes at 96%. But with the icon showing it works normally.

offset 62 bit 4 - AGPS option in Phone Status:
This allows you to turn on and off the aGPS. This is accessed from: main menu-settings-phone status-AGPS Service
I found that with the aGPS icon hidden, as in the above edit, turning on or off the aGPS made no difference.
However with the icon showing, the aGPS worked when aGPS was ON and did not when it was OFF.

offset 15 bit 3 - Detailed Info for AGPS:
This shows a little info notice about the aGPS when you turn it on or off. I turned this on but didn’t retry anything with it off. It seems useless but it doesn't get in the way either.

I dont think I will keep this service once the trial period is over, but I guess this is usefull info to anyone that likes the service.

hmm. My GPS symbol is flashing red with a cross instead of the waves that normally come from the "satellite" symbol. I gather that means I'm not getting GPS signal, but does it actually state it anywhere in the manual?

no, it just means that your phone isn't in view of a sat. let it sit with a sky view for a second or two and it will change to green.
