problems connecting...just with P2K Commander

Hey all...I'm new here. Been lurking for a while. This is a very helpful forum, I'm glad I found it. I just got my first phone, the Razr V3re

my firmware: R3442A_G_0E.43.0AR
my flex: GSTRAZR06ATT0INA0F0
boot loader: 0C.F4

I'm fooling around with my phone, and have been getting programs together and testing them out a bit. I can get my phone to connect to my computer through MPT, Flash & Backup3, Mexplorer, Midway and P2K Tools and RSD lite... the only one I can't get it connected throughP2K commander.

I've followed the guides, all of the ones I could find, but I can't get it to switch to the /a/ drive.

It says down in the corner that P2K is launched and it says at+mode=8 --> COM3

Is there anything else I should do to connect the program to the phone, or should it auto connect?

It should be set to '(new)3-g p2k mode' in options of pk comm, then on the right hand side select /a p2k phone sysytem in the drop menu were it say 'empty slot'

Make sure you have the latest version. And if modnmoto's advice doesn't work, try it again with RSD Lite running in the background.

i have this "at=mode=8 -->COM3" and i've been at this all day and im geting really mad, i have the z9 i have the p2k5 XVI32 the new p2k driver, my phone connects to Motorola Phone tools fine i cant figure out why P2k cant find my phone... any help would be much appreciated, thanks

First question is what p2k program are you using? P2k Commander or P2kTools and what version? Second suggestion is to post your question in the section for your phone which is here:

This is the section for the v3re, but I will attempt to help you.
In pkcomm in the options menu up top, under p2k tuning try the different setting, Im not fimilure with your phone so I cant tell you which one if any are correct. Also in the drop menu on the right hand side where it says 'empty slot' try selecting /a p2k phone system, or /b p2k pho...... or /c p2k pho....(your phones drive is one of these you need to find which one. Also try running rsdlite in the background while launching the P2k programs and keep it running while using them.

In P2kTools in the drop menu top left try p2k mode.(not: obex mode / at mode / flash mode)

Also, with my v3re, starting P2KCommander with the phone already connected to the computer gets about a 50% success rate on connecting to the phone--plugging in the phone after P2KCommander is already running gets 95-99% success rate.

But *I* find that to be the case with MExplorer as well, so it may just be my set-up...

Alright guys...thanks for the feedback. I have tried connecting to P2K (V 5.0.6) while running RSD Lite (version 4.2)...and nothing. RSD Lite is showing my phone details on the left hand side under device properties. Tried to switch to P2k and nothing. I tried connecting like pwyll suggested too and nothing.

I did go to the 'File, re-connect option' in P2k and it's showing "Sorry, no modem device detected at all." I may have isolated my problem.

But why can my other programs pick up my phone and not P2K?

I think I got P2K Commander to read my phone. In my right hand column, it shows my phone info... I can access the files in my phone. But what I don't understand is in the log window. It shows this:

Search files:/a/*.*
Free Space: 1757 KBytes
639 Files Found
639 Filenames loaded in 13985 milliseconds
UNSUPPORTED/INVALID OPCODE
UNSUPPORTED/INVALID OPCODE

I can still access everything in my phone, but is this unsupported/invalid opcode something I should be worried about?

Did you install the motorola driver? http://developer.motorola.com/docstools/USB_Drivers/


When you say p2k I assume you mean P2kTools. And in P2kTools in menu its set to P2k mode? Im thinking driver issue or program issue. Make sure correct driver is installed for your system. Maybe try downloading program again.

Personally, I've never been able to get 5.0.6 to connect either--it seems to recognize the phone but never actually connects to it. Since I've never had a problem with 4.9.E (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=7286), I've never bothered to investigate why 5.0.6 doesn't work. Try uninstalling 5.0.6 and then installing 4.9.E. I've a suspicion that the added support for the MotoMagX phones munged the V3re somehow, since the config/ini file (not on my "modding" puter so not sure which P2KComm uses) are there and match 4.9.E's, but the latter works fine for me so I don't really care :-)

Be sure to uninstall 5.0.6 first, and then reboot before installing 4.9.E--connecting to the V3re's seems tricky enough that it's probably better to do everything "by the book" just in case...

I see nobody has posted here since December but I was having the same problem connecting with P2k Commander 5.0.6 and I found one solution. During my searches I found the answer on another site and it was the solution I needed to connect. I had to go into the options setting and switch the "Mode" to "P2K/P2K05", mine was set to "P2k05 over USBLAN" when I installed the program.

I am using a RAZR V3 and maybe this should be posted in that section but because it is really about P2K Commander I putting it here where the question was asked. I have a feeling this will probably work for other phones as well. People here like Danation have been a big help to me so I try give back help whenever I can.

Don't know if it makes a difference because I haven't tested it yet but I have RSD lite running in the background like it was suggested in this thread. I have include a pic so you can see what I did and that it is working now.
