I have a old cingular sim that is unregistered because we upgraded to the new at&t 3g sim cards. If I wanted to loan someone this old sim to get his phone to prompt for the subsidy code, is there any thing I should be concerned about? Is there any information that is on or can be retrieved off the sim that I wouldnt want others to know? The sim would be cleared of all phone numbers and texts.

as long as all number and messages are erased there is nothing else you need to be concerned about.

I don't think so. Clear the numbers and the texts, and then stick it in for a prompt. Then take it out. I don't think there would be any problems from that.
You could ask in the general section for more opinions, but I'm pretty darn sure you're ok.
Edit: looks like Clarkey beat me to the post. :)
