i dont know if this is the same as his problem. im gonna try doing that when im done here too. but what happened with mine is that i flashed it trying to unlock it but now its just goes striaght to blank mode and i tried flashing the apristel mp in it but it didnt work. i also thought it needed to be unlocked first, so i treid the free unlock guide.after downgradeing the bootloader. which i cant see but i think it took effect casue now the phone doesnt go straight to bootloader. it vibrates when the battery goes in and then shut down. have to pree * and # for it to go in there. but it still wont turn on. need help here please

Connect the phone to the PC, then run RSD Lite on the PC (google for it if you don't have it, its motorola copyrighted, so we don't host it noe lik to it) and then when you start the phone in BL mode, pressing # and * and power on simultaneously, see as what RSD recognizes the phone. S-Flash or S-Blank neptune LTE2, that is important to know.

Good, now we need to know the Bootloader, you said the downgrade worked, what was it before? Also it could be that you had the sticky 20R_A firmware on it. Do you remember what was on it, or what RSD says about firmware now?

this is what rsd is saying right now. thats the only info i have casue the screen is blank

No problem about the screen. ( Have you tried with a really strong light shining on it, to see if it shows shadows?) But never mind that, I would first make sure that the battery is full, BL mode eats a lot of energy, but the phone is unable to charge the battery. That is the same in USB to PC as for a wall charger. You needa different phone to charge the battery, or a stand alone desktop charger.
Then, flash a stock MP first, the 10 R firmware one from the download section is one of the most stable ones.

ok ill try that right now and see if it works, sure i dont need to test point it?

http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=712 this one?

No no no n no lol. Testpoint brings you into s-blank, then we have to flash RFDI image, PDS repair, hope for the best and pray. As long as you are in s-flash neptune LTE, we are fine, and have a few options first to cover. If you have FB3, use that one for flashing. just to see the error if there is one. those error numbers are a bit more giving then the ones from RSD. Flash and Backup3 is in the download section as a trial version.

Yup. that one or this one http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=1551 pretty much the same

Which program did you use to unlock, and what error did you get?

you probably just flashed the wrong software version for your phone. anyway you cannot unlock a phone simply by flashing an unlocked FW. search around the v3 forum for "bricked v3" or something like that. many v3's have been bricked and successfully revived so dont give up hope!! i have found that although very fixable, the older v3 is quite stubborn. there is a great program that has gotten plenty of people out if this situation.... p2k easy tools 4.1, this program is WAREZ so we cannot link it or get it for you. Anyway, search around the forum. read all you can about unbricking v3, and pds repair. keep in mind testpoint is only for SEVERE cases, and i know in most cases is unnecessary, so dont worry about that!:)

so when i find that software what do i do with it?

You first try to flash a stock MP with it, if that is a nogo. You choose the "repair the PDS full Zone " Button, its quite selfexplaining once you open it. After successful PDS repai, you flash an MP again. And mosssst often it works.

will that require s blank mode?

Dumba
01-19-2009, 03:28 PM
No, it doesn't. s-blank is only required for unlocking, and other things, the V3 can't do anyway.

hmm interesting. so if i flash a monster pack in blank mode it unlocks the phone?

zedbra

no, you need to make phone s-blank, and use the unlocking tool, or smartclip, or GOT. flashing an unlocked mp even in blank mode will not unlock the phone. If im waaaaay wrong, Dumba will correct me:) he stays on top of things pretty good:thumbsup:

We are not unlocking yet, only reviving a temporary brick, haha. So no s-blamk needed. Then , once we have the phone working again, the same p2k ET 4.1 can unlock it with out TP whem bootloader is confirmed at 07.D0.

i have tried in the past to figure out a definate process for resolving a bricked v3, but it seems to depend on HOW the phone was bricked. i must have bricked my v3 a few dozen times(for experimental purposes:) ) and i had to use several different steps in varying orders to repair. it can be frustrating at times, but only once had i needed to TP..... i must have bricked it pretty good:D my v3xxr is much easier, just flash the backup and all is good!!
