nah, you can flash a locked phone, it just will still be locked is all.


@jmadd you may need to mod the mma_ucp file, i left the WVIM folder on it, i'll address this issue in the re-release sorry bout that. Use mma converter and p2k menu editor to repace on of the current menu options if you want to retain the all icon view

Do you have the area code in for their phone number? I have the phone number in my phone book like xxx-xxx-xxxx and it shows up just fine with Milk's flash.

The .pat file that i used is a very basic one, the more complex ones i tried started to freeze the phone, if ya want, experiment, i have a few posted http://www.savefile.com/files/242700 several different patterns there.

you can use Motkit, or p2k, if you need the OEM ones, i think i have them somewhere, just ask and i'll up them.

Nah, to change the color you have to edit the .pat file with TTC or a different funlight editing app.

make sure it is compatible with your phone and also try changing usb ports at the back of your CPU. sometimes the ports gives you trouble and that's why it can't be flashed or can be backed up. and use RSD 3.0.

This MP is awesome! I chose this as my test mod.
I had some worries that the loader might not be
correct or some other flaw would turn my new Pebl
into a brick.

It loaded fine but as a earlier poster said RSD said it
failed. I had to remove the battery to restart and it
was all there.

The only problem left is that java games won't run.
It tells me that storage device is no longer available.
I figure that this is fixable. Right??

Man, this is as much fun as programming a DSL card
used to be. What else can I do to this phone?

so in your description it says unlocked/unbranded.... where does the unlock part come in? Cingular card ain't workin in the t-mobile phone. Definately unbranded though, love the new looks

@Tramp IDK what the storage device thing is, try going into your settings menu and looking at the java settings, there may be some issue there. Or try removing and replacing them with MotoMidMan, back them to your PC first, then erase them from the phone using the phone menu, then re connect and replace.

@duff750 An unlocked MP wont unlock a phone, it just prevents relocking an unlocked phone. It still needs the traditional unlocking methods. Also, the subsidy code is changed to all zeroes, IDK if that will affect the subsidy lock code that is in place on your phone, if you feel like being a tester, get the code from T-Mobile, then try using all zeroes (wont work), then enter the proper code and post your results.

Wouldn't be hard on my part to test anything. T-Mobile somehow or another fucked up and sent me two phones when I ordered one. I got their prepaid deal and I got two boxes from t-mobile...Opened the first one and the phone had a phone number without my area code and didn't even have any service... Second one I opened was the phone number they said they were going to give me. Checked my bank account balance for two months and never was charged for the second phone, so I got me a free PEBL :D lol

Nice!!! T-Mobile does this so often i cant imagine what it costs them. What color(s) are your Pebls?

Call cust service, explain that you are going to the UK with your Pebl and need the unlock code to use a different prepaid service while there. Give them the IMEI for the paid for phone though! If you have problems, PM me, i was a dealer for a while with them and still know the system.

This cleared up by itself or after I deleted some ringtones and wallpaper. Might have been a memory issue. Thanks for the help.

Very thanks. Yes, I just flashed another version and then the MP. Maybe a problem with the first flash. OK I lowered the vol a bit and still sound crackling, for me no problem if crackling but yes If speaker get damaged, thats why I make the question...

Are you in the US? If not you may need to seem edit, SEEM 0032_0001 offset 02 - bit 1 - set to zero(off).

I dont seem edit with p2k tools, i get better results with MotoKit or p2k AE. For what you need to do, you could use TTC (Triplet Tool Compilation), its a multiple choice type seem editor thatll also do other good stuff. Dont let the name fool you, its still a relevant tool. I dont know if its hosted in the DL section on this forum, but its around teh internets.
If it still doesnt work, try offset 3e, bit 4. Try the first mentioned seem edit first with MotoKit, if no good, then try the second. If still no good, LMK and I'll think a little harder. What country are you in? Who is your provider?

Thats the alternative Moto Startup screen, it can be changed to the default blue Moto screen if you like. Use p2k Advanced Editor to do that.

Flashed the phone but now if someone is calling me the only thing i see is voicemail calling....doesn't matter if i programmed the number and name....how can i fix this????

Found the problem: in the messages settings the voicemail setting has an extension and some numbers i can't see...if you delete all this info you get the name of the person calling you again...hopefully this will help others.

Was your phone originally unlocked? A MP cannot unlock a phone, it just prevents an unlocked phone from being re-locked. Just let it sit powered up for like 15 minutes to an hour, itll go back.

how many times did you try to unlock it with the zeroes? The more failed times, the longer the period gets. Have you tried to actually contact your provider? Just ask for the subsidy code, they may give it to you. Last method will be to use GOTMoto http://*****************/got/main.php?section=resellers
and get the 24hr access and unlock it that way. gather up people too, you can unlock as many phones as you want in 24hrs.

I only try once, then the subsidy message "contact ..." appear, I'm in Italy right now, and my phone provider is from Mexico, that was one of the reason that i try to unlock it. So I just wait until the subsidy code message appear again? or what can i do? , is necessary to leave the SIM card inside the phone or I need to remove it?

Leave it powered on with the sim in or out, either way. Someone mustve entered wrong codes before, that takes a minimum of 5 wrong entries to appear. try your provider, tell them that you are overseas, and see if they will give you the code. If not, use the GOT tool to unlock it, or go to a local store to unlock it.

Well I don't know how to modify seems, but I think I may of fixed it. I went to Messages>Menu Button>Voicemail Setup>Voicemail No. and just got rid of the voicemail number, and now my contacts show in my recieved calls.

Im going to assume you already tried RSD Lite in BL mode, correct? Try to flash just CG2 with FBU and see what happens. If nothing, then try CG1, 2, 7, and 18 with FBU.

I just solve the problem.

I flashed my phone with your MP. My phone had the firm R478_G_08.84.2DR before i install your MP.

when it was dead. I tried to flash 3 or 4 times with firm R478_G_08.84.2DR_A_PDS00B_LP002C_DRM0101_VSTENG_JP JAVA_G_08_R478_06_20I_SE5772AXXF1174_1FF
before it take life. I used RSD Lite 3.0

And mi bootloader is 08.A1.

I always use RSD 2.6, never have any problems. I have heard that 3.0 is more reliable than 3.2, may be worth a shot.

If you want to, try to flash CG2 with FBU, you'll still get the stuff but not the lang pack or FW, that may solve the issue.

I love this mod, it's everything a U6 owner could want.

However, since I flashed, I seem to be having a bug I can't fix: when someone calls, the Caller ID reports the called as Voicemail, even though the number matches exactly with names in the address book. I have verified this even to the point of syncing up to get +1 inserted at the beginning of the number string.. nothing.

The weird thing is that Caller ID works great for received SMS messages.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm on Rogers in Canada, if that helps.

Since youre in Canada, it has something to do with the Voicemail # stored in the phone, try erasing it then power cycling the phone so it reads it off of the simcard. I remember another member having the same problem and it was fixed this way, maybe even in this thread. Glad you like it!

I think its different GSM systems, instead of location, IDK. Sorry bout the font, its jut my favorite is all.;)

Simplest way is to use P2K and install the Cing WS file in a/ , as far as the font goes, theres a couple in the DL section, under phone files/Pebl

I am using your MP. Though there are some bugs(Like Voice mail issue), it is really cool.Thx. I changed the font of the MP as its tough for me to read tiny letters. Anyways, Can I please ask you for a complete SEEM reference for PEBL U6? Specially how to make the green light blue, enabling Ring light, and send EMS(SMS containing characters more than 160, it can be done now but receiver gets multiple SMS instead of getting one page, and sender also gets multiple delivery notification)? Another thing is I have to set the delivery report on each time I send a new SMS. Can it be fixed? Please help me as I am a new comer in the world of Motorola.Thanking you - Px

OK, glad you like it. In the US we dont have EMS, so I turned it off. Just turn it back on with MotoKit, thats in the DL section here. The VM thing can be fixed too, SEEM 0032_0001 offset 02 bit 1: BLOCKS THESE FEATURES: Call barring, Call transfer, Info Services, do not read VM number from SIM, Voicemail ^@ text messages, Multi-Line Support, My Network List, Manual Network Search (1 on, 0 off - set to 0 to UNBLOCK these features)

Although theres a lot of apps that shortcut the editing process, it can be better to learn the actual process before shortcutting, you may come across seems that no shortcut app is available for and then youll have to learn anyway.

OK, glad you like it. In the US we dont have EMS, so I turned it off. Just turn it back on with MotoKit, thats in the DL section here. The VM thing can be fixed too, SEEM 0032_0001 offset 02 bit 1: BLOCKS THESE FEATURES: Call barring, Call transfer, Info Services, do not read VM number from SIM, Voicemail ^@ text messages, Multi-Line Support, My Network List, Manual Network Search (1 on, 0 off - set to 0 to UNBLOCK these features)

Any idea why I'm getting an error trying to load this? I've tried RSD 2.7, 3.3, and Moto's MulitFlashFlex tool. All failed when trying to load this. I've currently got R478_G_08.84.2AR

im completly new to this, but everything seemed pretty simple, but after installing ur MP, there was the voicemail problem, i called fido, the service provider, and they are sending me a new phone cause they thought it was a hardawre problem that caller id was not workin... but my problem is that after flashing with ur MP, i cant get connected to the computer with P2k tools, is it just im doing it wrong or does everyone else have this problem too???

note: i did unsinstall the drivers and reinstalled the drivers using the instuctions on how to get connected

if you get that new phone youre gonna get charged for it, flashing violates your warranty. AFA your connection goes, look at the getting connected guide, in the guides section, Windows even picks up phones with zero signs of life, so its a PC thing, especially if your phones working.

the pc picks it up, it says that the phone is connected and everything, but P2K tools doesnt work with it... u know how its supposed to have a green light to signify it is connectd? it doesnt turn green, it turned green b4 i flashed it, and motokit tools dont work either
im gonna call fido first thing in the morning so i can stop them from shipping it

also, is there is a way to unflash the phone?

try running RSD in the background, it needs to be forced into p2k mode .
You can just flash over it.

just substitute Pebl for Razr, flashing is flashing is flashing. Look for PST or RSD lite on google, and a pack labeled "(provider) Stock" will be what it came with.

i called fido, and i guess all i have to do now is just refuse the phone when it comes in and it will be sent back...thx for ur help, great mod!

on a side note, im trying to install motorola phonetools, and it wont work, sayin it needs an update, but when it gets an update, it says that liveupdate intercepted an error:furious: ... any idea?

Milkbone, i tried installing your MP with RSD lite3.2 and 3.3 and it stops and gives me a failed error. The error says "Phone[0000]:Error flashing subscriber unit. Devide API error: 0xE0030007 ...... phone disconnect" I was wondering why this is happening and how I could install your MP? Thanks

delete the two .db files in a/mobile/audio and restart, when you delete them press "all silent" in p2k tools.
