yes that's the newest. ill admit its not the fastest f/w in the world.... motospeed can speed it up some.

To find the L9 firmware related info go to Menu>>settings>>phone status>>other information. U can find all the information about flex and addrs.

to get your firmware press the key sequence:
*#9999#
there really isnt a specific firmware that is better but some seem to be able to tell a difference in firmware ending in 08.22
you should be able to flash any of the firmware we have here (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/downloads.php?do=cat&id=229)
but they are all stock as we're still waiting on RSA removal:shots:

hmm they all are stock =S whats point to flash stock bios again i've listened some firmwares are edited for optimal speed and alot of extra feature actually i just jumped in motomodding 1 week of reading nothing i tried yet practically for now :woot:. .

can you tell me what is RSA? what it does? i just bought this handset and dont know what to do any idea where to start ?

there is no way around it, you have to read the guides and stickies and if you cant find your answers there you can always do a search and we really only reommend starting a new thread or posting when you cant find your answers that way.
BUT to answer the questions RSA is basically a means of preventing the tamperment of your phone...so its similar to an administrator on your computer...i know this is a very crude definition but like i said if you want a more elaborate answer you will have to read or search or even wait for another to respond...ALSO its good to use google but its generally not a good idea to continue to reask those types of questions. now as for the difference between DRM and firmware, DRM contains allot of info but mainly we edit the DRM to show different icons like the battery levels, signal strength, txt msg...etc you can also edit the DRMs timeing to include how long does it take for your phone to recognize a key press or shortcut...there is just way too much to say about this stuff here which is why most will post a link and im not the best with organization but i am getting there. now we use the term firmware to describe your S/W Version and those come almost a dime a dozen! even your firmware version: R542J_G_08.21.09R_A refers to a certain type, location and such. all i can say is start here (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46970) and go from there. good luck and happy modding!:thumbsup:

you can still use it without registering but make sure you get the latest one(get it here (http://www.motorola-tools.com/backup-tool.php)) and also make sure you download the profile for it here (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=6766) ALSO you will need to unRAR it with ALzip(from here (http://www.altools.net/ALTools/ALZip/tabid/53/Default.aspx)) and put the files in the corresponding folders under the f&b program folder after you install it:thumbsup:

what do you mean by how to make drm work? if you see a drm from another MP that you like you either request a DRM port or if it is from an MP from our download section you flash just CG15. meaning open the MP in flash and backup 3 and uncheck all CGs except CG15 and either save it as a .shx or if you opened the MP in the flashing portion of F&B 3 then press the flash button:thumbsup:

I could never find a complete MP for 22.05R, the one I had before was using a 04R flex.

Boy do I feel like a NOOB! Can't even back the thing up.
Have spent 2-3 hours here after getting my new L9. The signal sucks right now at my home. So I figure I will flash latest firmware to help? Piece of cake right. But I need to backup first.
Load flash&backup3, no joy. Load 3.0.6 still no joy. Load L9 profile. Load Alzip, but still can't get the L9 profile into fb3 . It's now 2:30 in the morning and I give up. Think I'll just return cool phone and go back to my CDMA V3 with Alltel. Great service everywhere.:gasthrower:

I don't remember exactly but greatdude has put his stock firmware backup on some file sharing website... you need to check the link in the previous posts. Or you can ask him directly..........
