Since there's no forum section for the v365, I assume it's similar enough to the V360 to ask a question here.

I have a good set of headphones that I use for music. It has a 1/8" (3.5mm) mini plug. The headphone jack on the V365 accepts a 3/32" (2.5mm) plug. I tried a standard 3.5mm to 2.5 adapter from Radio Shack, and it fit the phone socket fine, but when plugged in securely (all the way) it only provided one channel of sound. If I plug it in just a little, I get stereo, but it falls out too easily.

Are there adapters made specifically for moto phones 2.5 sockets that will allow me to do this, or am I going to have to buy another set of headphones just for the cell phone?

Motorola 2.5 sockets are a bit more special so they headsets will cost a bit more. Only good solution is to buy a original Motorola headset like hs-120 (http://www.1800mobiles.com/motorola-stereo-headset-hs120.html), they provide pretty good quality.

Thanks gianhy.

With Moto pushing the V365 as an MP3 player, surely they must have an adapter so people can use higher quality headphones than the $15.00 hs120.

I'm trying to avoid buying an extra set of headphones, but if I do end up having to make that investment, since it will be mainly for music, I'll want something with a little better frequency response than the hs120 offers. Maybe I'll find something on the bluetooth side.

Sound quality is already limited by the 192kb bitrate of the mp3's at least that's on v360. So better headsets don't offer a much better sound quality.

To confirm the bit rate of the V365, I tried loading mp3s encoded at both 256 and 224. Neither would play. 192 worked fine, so that appears to be the max. - same as V360.

Found that adapter I was looking for in case anyone else is in the same boat:

Go to amazon.com and search for cingular 2.5mm adapter. It should be the second listing.
