I recently bought a phone off a guy who was using the slvr l7 with cingular, he had it unlocked for me before selling it and its working fine with my t-mobile sim card. My problem is that I'm unable to send/receive pictures in text messages and also unable to access the internet from my phone. When i talked to T-mobile's customer service they told me I needed some type of T-mobile update they tried to send me in a browser message and each time they sent it I would try and put in the 4 digit code they gave me and the update would fail. After getting to their 3rd level of customer support he told me my phone is unlocked as far as using it with a different provider but that it is still data locked which is stopping me from using the internet and sending/getting picture texts. What is the easiest way to go about fixing that problem? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for taking the time to try and help its appreciated. I've gotten a little farther with the problem but seem to be stuck again. I've removed the file that says websession and proxy websession from my phone using p2k commander than installed the tmobile websession from the download section and after restarting my phone im still unable to send/receive pictures and cannot access the internet still. I went back in, removed that websession again and went to the tmobile link i found on another post here that lets you configure your phone by having them send you the websessions needed for browsing as well as picture messaging.
The problem is that now i can access the internet from the update it sent me but when i have it send the second part that allows you to message pictures it fails repeatedly. That one will not ever update successfully. I've tried removing the old websession and starting with the picture updater than going to the browser updater and still the picture updater fails. Any help would be greatly appreciated, would love to be able to send and receive pics and videos but so far not having any luck,

When I get to MMS message setup I can see that its blank under server info after i got rid of it saying cingular. When i click on the blank server info it brings up 3 options: service 1, service 2, and service 3.
I click on service 1, than click new, and it opens a screen that says current server and shows the websession is blank. I scroll down to it, click it and change it to t-zones which is what i need but when i back out of it and check it, the websessions line is blank and no longer shows the t-zones i just put in. It doesn't have an option to click done when you change it just cancel or change so I'm just clicking out of it and after trying to send another picture message again it says unable to send so i'm still doing something wrong i guess. Any ideas where im making the mistake? Thanks again for the assistance I'm sure you guys tire of these noob questions but it is appreciated.

Is this done on the phone itself or done using p2k commander? I've gone through the functions alot of times and don't see anything that
says web access. The only way i've seen on the phone so far to get to the websessions screen was the part in mms message setup that didn't seem to have a way to save the change i made to t-zones.

I found it and when i opened it up, it's already set as t-zones. I can access the net with it and the browser pops up no problem but it hasn't changed the inability to send/receive picture messages. I've gone to t-mobiles device manager site a few times as well and had them send me the browser message that says update required to install and every time i input the 4 digit code there site gives me after i receive the browser message and its failing every time. It worked fine though when i used that same site to send me the update to have web access. Sucks i would much rather be able to send and receive pictures than have web access if i had the choice.

This is really getting frustrating. I used p2k commander to remove all the websessions and proxy and started over again. Downloaded from the downloads section the us version of t-mobiles websession and copy it over to my phone using p2k commander and as soon as I'm done it says would you like to set up t-zones are your browser and i say yes and now i can connect to the internet. No matter what i do though, I'm unable to send/receive pictures. I've gone back and forth to t-mobiles web site configuration page and had them send me the updater multiple times today and every time i install the pin they give me for verification it fails. I'm assuming the websessions i installed is for multimedia messaging as well as internet browsing right? Or do i need something extra on top of that to send pictures? Thanks for all the help from everyone, this thing is really getting on my nerves.

you will set the mms messaging in the message center.
message center > menu > message setup > mms . you'll have to call or check the website of your provider for this setting.

I'm so glad to be done dealing with t-mobile's customer support! Thank you everyone in this thread that offered the assistance. I finally got a hold of a tech support person that knew what she was talking about and walked me through the manual input of the mms server information i needed to put in manually and it works perfect. Thanks again all of you.
