V3 bricked

So this is the deal.
i was trying to change the hellomoto screen, and accidentally flashed the cg1 from the R374_G_0E.42.17R_noRSA file from the guide.
after that, the phone is not recognized by the usb and of course, i have not bootloader screen.
any idea?

Hold # and * pressed, then insert battery, tell us if RSD Lite can seeit then. Make sure the battery has some power.

Battery definitely full? It will not charge in the phone while the phone is in that mode. It needs a stand alone charger, or a different phone to be charged in.

OK, last thing on the checklist would be to make sure its not the USB cable or USB port, or the drivers, and then you will probably have to Testpoint it to bring it back to s-blank neptune. Then it needs PDS repair after, and flashing with a stock MP. Testpoint procedure is explained in the guides.

now rsd detects the phone as blank neptune.
tried to perform a pds repair with p2keasy tools and gives me an error
the phone is at least detected now.

Ok, are you on Vista or XP, p2k ET is funny with Vista.It also doesn't like AVG at all, or the other way round. Is there a hub on the USB port?

There is your problem, the p2k drivers don't seem to work with hubs, make sure you connect it straight up to the pack of your pc.

No need to be scared. You could try a stock MP for a change. With RSD Lite. See what happens, and what RSD Lite says about it.

It says R364? We had that before here, and that was bad. Never got those Rokr- razr Hybrids to work as far as I remember. But I will look up those old threads.

i had r374 before the whole thing.
r364 appeared after the testpoint and a last intent of resucitation with a MP with the RSD.
before that was blank neptune, after that, flash neptune with r364

tried everytyhing i could (i don't have my original pds backup, so, im always limited) and more.
googled v3 with r364/365 and the best option is to have pds backupped, wich i dont. the rest is all smart clip and stuff.

edit: wowa some news fellas. you confirm me, pls, if im right.

i found in a guide that a guide got to get the r374 in a r364 with BL 8.23. So i tried to flash with p2k easy tools, rsd, F&B and nothing. so i opened p2k tools and went to flash section, finding (didnt know it was there since ive never flashed with p2k tools, and found that it has the whole list of addresses of all cgs, and... PDS! so, ive download the backup of the pds, (i think) opened it with winhex and checked that says PDS in the beggining, and it sasy so.

the most important question of all is- i did this having the r364, the PDS is corrupted too, or is it my original?
because if its my original PDS, not corrupted, then i can re-read all guides (those that have the pds backup) and try..
pls comfirm guys.

also, i found all solutions are through repstudio. i can't find a version that doesnt give me an error.

Have you tried a TP yet? Maybe somebody's got a PDS backup you could try. I wouldn't give up yet.

Yes, PDS is phone specific too. Some of it might be the same on all V3, but the part which get corrupted, is usually the part which is unique to your Razr.

There have been times when using a PDS image has helped (specifically V3i Critical Error DE AD.)

What I would do is a PDS repair and then flash a full MP in blank mode.

1.after 1st TP, tried pds repair with P2k ET, didnt work (same last msg)
2. flashed a stock MP with rsd, nothing. only get

If it were me, I'd see if I could find a PDS image, some sort of generic PDS and flash it to your phone. Then do a PDS repair and flash.

If you know somebody with a smart clip, go for that.

ok. i found a pds template (at least the file says so) i'll try that one.
now ive to perform a TP again, since ive bricked it again doing some tests with bootloaders (flashed the 0760)
i'll revert with the results of the pds template tomorrow.

update:
looked through different places.
found 2 options.

1. flash boot 760 repair, and R374_G_0E.42.10R. didnt work
2. flash with BL 0200 and use multiflash flex from PST. didnt work.

there's an option i didnt do yet. wich is to take another v3 pds as template, insert mine, and do repair.
didnt try yet because when i open my pds with the pds editor, it shows me the infamous r364.
so that kinds of turns me down.
anyway, eventually, i'll try.

if any extreme idea (not service shop) comes to mind, are welcome.

Maybe try using MsTools8r or Got_Moto (I'm a big fan of Got, but it will cost you 5 bucks to use it for one day.)

mstools pds repair goes well until the last phase, were it drops me a violation address msg.
then it leaves it blank neptune again with BL 0200.

Does it show the exact same when you start it in Bootloader mode? Take battery out, keep # and * pressed while reinserting the battery. Is it the same code then?

May be totally unrelated, but I just wanted to say "Thank You!" for all the info and links re: unbricking a V3! I just got mine trashed accidentally, and was able to revive it using RDS Lite and a stock MP, so I am back in the game now! That was fairly easy... :) I am used to using F&B for flashing, and it just plain refused to recognize the phone. Didn't think about RDS Lite until I read this thread... So, once again, thank you!

More or less vista works a lot different in most cases, and seeing that most of the programs weren't specifically designed to work with vista, i'd reconcider using it... XP is better.

oh and the message that you're getting, whenever you get PHONE CODE SIG
39:02 is either the drivers, the cable or the computer i'd start with the computer (OS)

ive tried to follow russoeternal's guide for pds repair, but how can i starting flashing a BL after a TP? rsd lite wont let me...

ps: most problems i had with repstudio was because of xp/vista. it works fine on w2k

As a try, you could use that RFDI image from the downloadsection, it won't repair the PDS, but it might repair the RFDI , so a BL can be flashed after TP.

hey..
i've tried to follow this guide with not success.

1. Test point
2. Flash with RSD BL 07.D0
3. PDS repair with repstudio as follows-
*P2K phone
*E398, instead of V3
*Repair using replmg
When the repstudio asks for "flash mode and press OK", dont do it. go to step 4.
4. Test point
5. Flash BL 07.B0 with RSD
6. turn off cell
7. With the cell turned off, press OK in the repstudio msg and after 3 seconds, turn on in flash mode. Repstudio will finish the repair.
8. Flash R374_G_0E.42.17R
9. Flash 07.D0 and then 08.23

My questions is (if someone did it and worked)
When after the TP, i flash the 07.D0, and RSD asks for reboot to complete the process, ive to build again the phone. have i? i mean, i can't remove the battery and connect it again so RSD will recognize it. If it's the case, it doesnt work.
After i put the cell together again, RSD finish it but repstudio wont ask me "turn in flash mode and press ok". In fact, it gives me an "erasing error" msg.

I have actually never used repstudio to recover a V3 in this state of being bricked.

Whenever my V3 had this SIG ERROR, I solved it by a combination of testpoint, flash RFDI, repair PDS, flash bootlaoder, full flash. It needed tose over and over, i can't remember which order.

One advantage I have: I used a box to get the phone to work.
