View Full Version : Couple of questions for you modders!

Alright so I just got a V3.
Couple of questions:

1) If I want to mod my V3, do I need to installing additional drivers so my computer will recognize it? (I already have drivers for my SLVR L7 and I can properly mod my L7 on this computers). If so where do I get them?

2) My phone is unlocked but I think it's got some branding on it..(China Mobile), here are the information:

Flex: GSTU3XX05T676GR084
Sim Version: R4515_G_08.BD.2AR_2
DSP S/W Version: 63212100

The branding is really annoying, (it has custom icons and additional features that don't even work. Which monster pack version should I flash my phone to so I can start with the fresh moto like it was on my L7? (Which version will work and which one doesn't?)

Do I have to change the monster pack or just the flex? (Flash / Flex? I'm not 100% sure on the difference)

3) Also, on my SLVR L7, I have the ability to change the USB to "Memory card/DataFax" , but I can't do this on the V3, will this be a problem?

Start out by checking out Apristels Guide (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=160). Download the stuff that he tells you to there. If you need to install new drivers, you'll have them ready to go.

I would use Apristel's New Monster Pack found HERE (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2004). It's got the most recent firmware on it.
As far as changing your phone from "memory card/data fax", don't worry about it. You can't because the V3 doesn't have a memory card. You'll be able to use all the programs and everything just fine.

what does this MP do to the Phone? Does it de-brand it and make it factory? Does it include unlocking & the 10 meg upgrade?

if it does....SWEET! I'm so happy for my friend. He is getting a V3r for Christmas. If this one doesn't do what I asked above can someone give me a link to one that does.

No monsterpack will unlock your phone. At best you'll get a stock motorola flex with 6-7 free mb. There will be better mps for the v3r they are just not made yet. you can free up some space by deleting x-tra pics, videos and sounds, you will need p2k tools to delete locked files.
