I don't think it's possible with a software change, as every Razr (I think) so far has had the blue keypad lights.

You could try taking the keypad off, then putting a piece of cellophane in between that and the pcb - but I'm not sure how that would affect the button presses.

Please be kind to other members. You were an "Itty Bitty Modder" a few posts ago. And I was as well, not too long ago :)

As far as keypad light color goes, turtledude is correct that it would have to be a hardware mod. Probably not cellophane, but a change of color at the source of the light. I would research more into that, if you'd like a color change of the keypad backlight.

Has been done with cellophane, lol. There is a thread about it in the v3 section, from 2006. The LED can't change colour otherwise.

I was thinking the same trick when he asked the question. It would be a cool mod and a rare one at that. Not to many red keypads or other colors. I think Im gonna try it. Dumba Could you please post a link to that thread. (hehe it might make me go back to the razr and give the rokr a rest)........naaaaah lol

Well, you COULD change the color of the LED... by replacing it, lol.

I try to look it up, but while searching, I post old threads I found and remembered, which give good ideas about hardware modding, :)

can't find it, might have been with pics on Momo or Motox or Maxmo, or where ever, lol. Was like those old space invader games, just a multicoloured mat to colour the light of the keypad like a rainbow.

I liked the clear housing in the one post! That would be really neat with a multicolored keypad. You could be sure that nobody else would have one like yours.....

I was always a bit more of an Hardware Modder, lol. I Mod everything I own, and not all of what I own has Software, haha. And its more in the open when its on the outside. But I also like things like an iPhone hiding inside an old Startac, haha, just never had the Funds to do anything like it.

@piken I suggested cellophane as I have done it with an SE K750i before. The Razr's entire keypad PCB lights up in blue (much like LEDs lit up on the keypad PCB of the K750), so covering the source of the light in a different color cellophane should work in changing the color.

Does it impede the buttons at all? Do you hear any cracking? Seems like an interesting mod, lol.

You can even give the LCD a nice hue by placing a film between actual LCD and screen glass or plastic. Like faint Rosa, :)

@Danation When I did it with the K750 it worked out pretty well. The cellophane was thin enough to keep the button's feel and from what I remember, there wasn't any really noticeable sound from it.

The Razr's keypad is different from the design of K750's, so I'm kind of interested in how it would work. Maybe I'll try it sometime, it would be pretty cool - haha.
