I recently opened my phone to find that the FTS menu was open and the standard menu+left soft key buttonpress combination did not work to get me out. It just said "Screen already in favorites." Power cycling the phone did not help. The FTS menu comes back up. After a while, I figured out how to fix it without reflashing:
Turn off the phone.
Wait 5 seconds
Turn it back on, and during the startup animation press the menu button, then the left soft key.
Celebrate your victory.
Turn off the phone.
