5 skin CG52 for V8

This is another CG52 reflash for V8. I just have added another 2 skins, so there are now 5 skins to choose from (Alkali, Asia, Indium, Plush and CMCC).
The major difference now is that when you choose the CMCC skin the icons will change as well as when you choose the Asia skin. Nevertheless they are all unedited skin and it has pushed the CG52 to its limit, size wise, I had to choose a much smaller screensaver otherwise SBF Recalc would not allowed the reflash to be made.

Unfortunately not cos every firmware so far uses the same DRM icon set in terms of top screen symbols and at present the iconres.ezx of the V8 can not be edited.
But the iconres.ezx of the Z6 can be edited!!! :confused:

I ain't got a clue what I doing here (novice!!) but I downloaded your skins files to my PC then plugged in my phone to the PC and installed the drivers - the file I downloaded appeared in my phone but I have no idea how to launch it from the phone as my phone says it does not recognise the file - help......!

you put the phone in bootloader mode, then you flash that file to the phone with rsd lite.

That file is just a replacement for your CG52 and you need to flash it with RSD, but do not do it as your Orange firmware will react with a lot of black exclamation marks on yellow background.
For your V8 you would need a complete firmware change.
I noticed that with my first V8 which had the Orange firmware on it and I had to change a few CG's before those exclamation marks were gone, but to replace the complete firmware worked much better, but I waited until the V8 was unlocked.

HI! i've just done a mistake. i flash my orange (v8 512 unlock) with this 'R601_G_80.42.0FR_custom_CG52.sbf' and get the black exclamation marks on yellow background in the standby screen. i have tried reflashing it with different firmware thru RSDLite but all i get is failed. and now i'm stuck. can you suggest how i can get all those exclamation mark out please. many thanks

Only a complete new firmware will change that. That is the trouble with Orange branded firmware it goes all over the place, you take one piece out and the result is just messy looking.

ok, so can anyone tell me how to do it or a post that shows a step by step way to put your phone into bootloader mode and how to RSDLite??? I'm new to all this and just got my phones a few days ago.. Help

Awesome SKINS! One slight problem though -- after flashing this file to my 2 GB (Final Linux Mod), I lost some of the old menu items. I no longer have the Call Center and Tweaks folders and there is a new folder for Y Portal, what I think before was Opera?

Anyway that I can get back those folders?

Also -- I noticed the error with the icons turning yellow has been fixed, at least for me.

ok so you had Final Linux Mod on yer V8,
but you've flashed this old flash?

the Call Center and Tweaks folders etc are custom icons made only for Final Linux Mod

I see... didn't realize this skins flash was an older version than the Linux Mod. Is it possible to reflash just the skins CG from the Linux Mod?

why what skins do you want?

I liked that orange skin -- I think it was the CMCC. I would rather not reflash the entire thing, but I will if I have to.

Edit: I used SBF-ReCalc 1.2.8 and split the Final Linux Mod up, somehow recompiled just the CG52 (don't know if i I did it right), then flashed just that codegroup. Now I have back what I had before.

yep the orange skin can be used on any flash with the External Skin addition feature
