v3re Questions

Hi,

I have upgraded from a v3 (R374) to a v3re (R3442A). I am having issues with the menus. When I try to edit anything on the menus, the 'Personalize' funtion won't do anything afterwards. Also when I connect to P2K Tools it says it is pulling the files from a\, but nothing shows up. I'm Using the R3442A_G_0E.43.08R Flex. Any help would be appreciated

What are you using to edit menus and which are you editing?

Not all of the P2kTools functions work with the V3re. For a file manager, you'll need to use M-Explorer or P2kCommander.

I was using P2K Tools to edit the menus, because P2K Menu Editor wouldn't work. When I try to open the menu from the phone, I get an error.

I'll give the M-Explorer a try, because P2K Commander works for everything but the root of the a\ folder.

Yeah, use M-Explorer 0.9.6m and MotoCat's patch:

For the Menu, I usually download mma_ucp from the phone with M-Explorer. Then I open it with P2kTools and then I mod it, save it, and load it back to the phone.

Tried to patch the M-Explorer, and it said it patched 71 files, but I still can't see the root of the /a/ folder. I dunno what i did wrong.

There's no accessing /a/folder, its simply not accessible at this time (ie. no one's been able to get into it so far)

Actually, you can, thanks to MotoCat's good work over at mmus.us.

Make sure to CLOSE M-Explorer before you run the patch. Then open M-Explorer again and DON'T refresh the file list.

And just BTW, but I did find MMA Advanced Editor 06 to edit the menu. That does seem to work good enough for the v3re

Interesting. Never got MMA AE to work on V3re, but I didn't really try that hard, to be honest.

Did you get M-Explorer working right?

No luck on the M-Explorer yet. All I really wanted to do was edit the gain_table.bin to increase the volume. I can see the files in P2K Commander, but when I try to download them a files shows up, but it's blank and it says generic failure. Also tried motosound and it won't even load from the phone. So i guess I'm stuck for the moment. Thanks for your help though.

PS I might try backing it down to the 43.0R version of the FLex...

Flex Version, S/W version, it's really all the same on V3re.

Are you using Vista, by any chance?

Well, it did for me. I had to put the M-Explorer folder in My Documents and run it as an administrator.
