i've included a default icon set and a set for my DarkSun skin for l7i.

be4 installation delete every file(s) of the previous versions

v3.2 installation :
copy actdesk.elf to activedesktop folder in ur memory card replacing older one. after then copy sounds folder to default folder under active desktop folder of ur memory card..


and don't forget to provide feedback and bugs(if any)..:king::king::)

this means ,if u want an icon set for a skin named "Darksun" and the actdesk.elf is placed in b/elf/actdesk/ then u should place the icon set for darksun skin to b/elf/actdesk/DarkSun/

it's kinda shortcuts icons and a clock on homescreen similar to those in nokia n-series phones

if ELFs work on v3i then it will work too but the event codes in actdesk.res file will be different. In fact event codes are different for each firmware..

Works on the v3i (Motofun 3.0) with issues but I think that's my skin probably. Not all the icons work and they are not in sync with what they show. Up and Down arrows on the keypad are blank (don't do anything - usually that is my UP = Tunes and DOWN = Shortcuts)

How do you configure this nice elf?

Well, the event codes are different on different firmwares, as mentioned. So some of the icons that he configured for his phone (L7e, I think?) won't be exactly right on V3i. You have to find those codes and put them in the .res file.

i've made to disable up/down(in horizontal mode) and left/right(in vertical mode). i can remove this restriction if u want..

and about the configuration see actdesk.res file it has all configuration settings as well as event codes for the icons..

Just edit the actdesk.res file in the skin folder.

Afaik ELFs doen't support per pixel transparency on images i.e PNG images..


and abt animation see the pic below . it leaves trails behind it when i tried to hide it by animation...:ok:

i.e.

<activedesktop elf folder>/default/sounds/hide.mp3 , and
<activedesktop elf folder>/default/sounds/restore.mp3

Ok i found one bug with having the all the skin files on the memory card. if you have quite a few skins set up, there are just too many pictures to go through when looking for actual pictures i've taken. I use my phone as a camera, music player, and a phone. So how hard would it be to put the skin files back into the skin folder on phone memory.

really love active desktope suraj, but i like my camera more, if theres anything i can do thats not too involved, just tell me and i can do it.

oh and im using V3.2 on my Z3 btw.

i see some of u have interest in having the source code.. as u might know that i'm no longer an active member here(busy at my collage studies). i decided to release the source off v3.4 of active desktop..

but the only condition is that never enclose the modified/improved source with you...i.e. release the source with the binaries every time u release a modded version...

In the Active desktop folder there's another folder called "default" this is where the images are you can edit them :)

image editing will not change the style of a selected icon
my problem is that i can not figure out which icon it is selected simply because selected icon only gets an outline

Images must be edited. can edit Cursor, and the icon images if neccesary. Cursor is behind icon, so if the icon is larger than cursor, cursor wont be seen.

I have a problem. I put active desktop's 3.4 files to a/Elf (I'm using a patch for elfs in a/). When I try to load the elf, the phone freezes, then restarts and the elf menu becomes unavailable, I need to reupload the whole folder to the phone. L7iharsha has the same problem. Any solution for this? The elfloader I'm using used to run this elf.

well, u need to open up actdesk.c file and search if any piece of code requires any file in c/ ,,, if not then it might not be compatible with a/ elf patch... :confused:
