desktop/laptop compatability

hey here is the deal im thinking of switching from a desktop to a laptop computer but i need to know

i've been using the usb ports on the back of the desktop computer for the moto software and im wondering will it work if i use the same software but use the usb ports on a laptop please help me with this im planning to head off to college and im goin to convert from desktop computer to a laptop computer

all right so your saying that it'll work on a laptop and just on a side note

idk when my mom's birthday is coming up so i thought i could giver her phone a new skin but i want your opinions and hopefully some links on which skin would suit her(nothing too much pink or too little please) and also she got a custom phone cover all in pink with a cros made out of shiny dots(fake diamonds or idk point is its shiny)
