Please help me mod my phone

I am sorry for posting a new thread. I went through other threads and couldnt understand a thing. Apologies and plea to members for help..

Well, I want to know how to mod my EM30. i tried the guides section but the phone is not listed.

My qns are:-

1. Do i need to upgrade my phone's original firmware to a new firmware before installing a custom firmware? If yes, then which one?

2. I saw both the firmwares that are available, which is the best option provided i am looking for more performance?

3. How to backup my phone before modding it so that i can restore the backup if anything happened?

4. Finally, how to install a CFW? Do i need any specific softwares or is it just a copy-paste thing?

H/W Version: AAUG2366AA
AP S/W Vesion: R6716_G_71.01.23R_A
BP Flex Version: GSXPNSASWAINRT036
BP S/W Version: R6716_G_71.01.23R_A
Technology: Quad Band GSM
Language List : 0039


Is there anything else thats required let me know.. I am running a windows vista ultimate 64 bit..

well first you needs to establish what bootloader your phone has.power off the phone and hold* and# and the power on button that should bring you to the bootloader screen write that down and post it back.

First, flash NoRsa 06.A9 bootloader, then, the modded firmware you want. For example, try with this: [EM30] Perfect (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=497691), or this: Imperfecto_V.3.0_Happy_Box (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=521902)
