my v3 is showing the txt message icon when i have no txt messages. how do i get if off?

I had that fault once, and cured it by taking battery out and then restarting the phone. Never found out any other way.

send yourself a new text msg, then use the cleanup messages option to delete all messages. this worked for me when i had the same issue with my voicemail icon:)
