My Razr has had an intermittent buzz for some time now. I have ask AT&T for support as it's on their network. Finally yesterday they told my there is a reported issue with Razrs buzzing if the keypad is held close to the operators face (?) so I changed my grip on the phone covering the antenna with my thumb and the noise stopped. My questions are, anybody else having this issue? If so, does it happen on other networks or do I have to change providers to keep using my razr? Will changing the phone software address this?

i don't remember, but i told someone, that this is a dtmf sound, created by keypad.
And this buzzin sound will remain silent after a 1 minute of call, most probably.
I think changing s/w version may not work.
BUT, STILL--
you can try out ATT revisited MP, by zedbra.
its in download -> phone files -> r374 (v3) -> Monster Packs -- section.

thanks, I can't get P2K from apristel to run on my pc, using P2k 3.7 I get the message "RDL SIG ERROR:39:02:" displayed on the bootloader screen of the Razr. How to flash the monsterpack?

How to flash is explained in our guides, http://www.modmymoto.com/wiki// , But something else, you write in your title about AT&T 3G network, you are aware that the phone will never work as 3G? GPRS is about the max speed for the v3, and Edge for the v3re. Non of them have 3G.

thanks for the link. I mentioned the 3G in case the network was making the buzz on my phones and because ATT seemed to feel Motorola was responsible. I'm ok with the speed as it is, my primary use is common telephone calls. I'll check the guide and try it again.

I currently own 3 V3's and 2 out of the three buzz most of the time faintly sometimes it get louder where it get really annoying sometimes it's gone. I'm on centennial and they told me that happens to alot of V3 and it is a known issue. I have learned to block it out or like you said reposition the phone. Also do you notice that when using a bluetooth headset the noise is gone?

I can't say I use the headset enough to notice if it kills the buzz. So, anyway, it doesn't matter if the phone has the latest software flash as far as the buzz is concerned? I'm thinking the noise started when 3G rolled out. I used my first razr for years on T-Mobile, maybe 2004 to 2007, and never had any issue with. I used the second one from 2007 to mid 2008 at least before the buzzing started. Initially it was on rare occasions, but now it's most every call.

My V3 's have always buzzed off and on. I think I bought them about 5yrs ago.

i never had this problem myself.... is this buzz in the ear speaker?? sounds like there should be some sort of filter for that, or perhaps changing the speaker if it is getting ready to go bad. i dunno, these are the only suggestions i can think of.
i have noticed whith cingular, and now ATT, there is a buzzing when near other speakers such as stereos and TV's. it does have something to do with their network. only happens with ATT phones!! Could be this "interference" is conflicting directly on your phones.

From the feedback I've received, I'm thinking it depends where on the planet we are how bad the buzz is. It is the ear speaker. ATT says new hardware, of course, but I really like my Razrs.
I just spoke with a friend on T-Mobile, he has no buzz on his Razr.

and after getting FB3 I flashed the generic 42.17R, then Apristel's mp. A few tweaks and I like it. The buzz was gone, but it was intermittent, so time will tell. Thanks to all for the help, comments, links, etc. PS, BL is 08.23 and 08.26 on the phones, didn't need to tp the phone (yea!)

I doubt it is a bad speaker like I said mine may go months without the buzz and it some times helps to change the network settings from fast to continuous and vice versa.
