V3 master reset thru USB?

Is there a program allowing a master reset thru computer USB? I have a V3 that opens volumn menu with every key except red end/off button which resets to home screen. No way to get to settings. Installed a monsterpak but still reacts the same way. I seldom get one to last more than 6 months (work construction and imbibe) and have already replaced this one. Is it just a rectangular frisbee? sounds like a bad flex cable. if you want to try flashing another mp, you can find stock Moto,Cingular,and T-Mob flashes in the downloads section.

first please post your s/w version and bootloader. to do this: with phone off hold * and # keys, then press power. keep holding * and # until info is displayed on the screen. then post it here

Problem: The V3 opens volumn menu with every key except red end/off button

This phone had this problem prior to reflash. It just happened on day. It had worked fine, from the factory, for the 4 or 5 months that I had used it, so got out a new one and tossed it in the box with the others. Months later, I was going to trash the bunch, but noticed this one still looked new. I put in a new battery (freshly charged) to see which one it was. Ahh yeah, I remember, this one has that wants to adjust the volumn. What can I do? OK. Let's do some flashing. maybe the thing had an aneurysm. First thing ever done to this phone, down loaded all the programs, installed the mp. No changes with the problem. Well.....let's post and see if anyone has had this problem. But first, let's redo the entire mp. Same results. OK, lets try another phone. Results perfect, OK, back to the problem one and try again. No Luck. Post Thread

long ago i was caught in some tropical rain, my phone was in my front pocket.. ooops!! water damage. same thing happened to me exactly. only red button worked and other keys went directly to volume. Replaced the flex cable and all was normal again.

try replacing the flex cable. you order one from HERE (http://cnn.cn/shop/motorola-razr-keypad-flex-cable-p-300.html)

My guess is a sticky button. Open up the phone and carefully clean behind all of the side buttons (smart key, volume, voice dial, etc.)

I would try that before buying a flex cable.
