Hi.
I have been attempting for six hours (with reading google refs and trying various other paths) to get my v3r to connect to my Macbook Pro. (OS X 10.4.8)
I've got Moto4Lin running, get "connected" but always fall back to this:
[info] Switching device /dev/cu.usbmodem0000103D1 to P2K mode...
[info] Phone is unpluged
[info] Phone pluged as P2K
Try to connect
[info] Phone connected as P2K
[error] Unable to get phone model
[error] Unable to get drive name
[error] Unable to get file count
[error] Unable to get drive name
Is there any hope???
This is the 12-27-2006 version of moto4lin...
Phone is unlocked V3r (Hong Kong version with English/Chinese...I'd love to change this to LP003!)
Boot Loader 0a.30
SW:R4515_G_08.BD.2AR_2
Thanks very much for any pointers/suggestions!
Cheers

I don't believe that Moto4lin works with the V3r. I could be wrong, but I don't think that I am.

Wonder what it would take to get it working?
Another question:
Even discounting Moto4Lin, I've tried to use flasher (all compiled with no problem, I do that sort of work every day) to flash a 4515 shx file to the phone via Terminal, but all I got was the 80 40 error.
Is this phone a lost cause???

Is this phone a lost cause???
--Maybe so, for now at least on a Mac. Moto4lin is all we have and it's list of supported phone is way less than its win counterparts. It looks as though Moto4lin hasn't the instructions to properly parse/list the drives on your phone. If you program, i'm sure it would'nt take much to add support in moto4lin...have you tried taking a look at the moto4lin cvs/source? -Digitol-

Hi Digitol!
Thanks for your thoughts!
Unfortunately, while I am a programmer, I wouldn't have the slightest idea where to start with a project like this! (and don't have many extra cycles to do the research myself ...)
I'd certainly be happy to test it if someone with more wizardry had the time to make some tweaks. I can check-out stuff from svn, configure and make all day long ;>)

I Have Exactly the same problem, but my phone is a V3i from germany, which now has a "medion mobile" sim card... I hope so badly to fix it, but i am a complete novice in programming... i have the version of moto4lin that you can download from http://modmymoto.com/wiki/index.php/Get_Your_Motorola_Connected_OS_X which surely isn't the newest... if i try to go to the homepage i can never connect to the server... if that even is the problem ^^
i wonder how i could fix it... please, if anyone has advice... HELP ME!

Same problem for me. I've been getting the same errors, and I'm using a RIZR Z3. I'll try your "lil son a bitch" in the downloads section?!
