i have 2 lines with t-mobile. the free phone they gave me just isnt goint to cut it for me. i have an older v3 (pre my faves). can i make that phone compatible with myfaves? maybe use newer software?

i don't think so, as far as i heard your phone will still have my favs but it just wont show up on the main screen like it does with other phones, personaly i hate tmos my favs. so i just hide it.

However, you might be able to use that option if someone here in M3 has a V3 that they got from tmobil and it has my favorites and that person is kind enough to make a back up of the stock flash and upload it here, then you can maybe flash that Mp and you will have that option.
i don't know if it will brick ur phone though,

you can also look in the downloads sections and check if there is a stock tmobil my favs flash for your phone's BL and SW

im not so concerned with the actual icons. i personally hate them as well. it takes away a lot of the main screen buttons that i use. i guess im mostly trying to see if i can use it with the faves thing. t-mobile had told me that i cant use it, compatibility issue. i have a v3t also that is modded pretty heavily already, thanks to the great help on here.

yea i heard that even tho is a tmobile phone that you will use minutes if your phone not for my fave 5 i would recommend trading your v3 motherboard for a v3r mobo here in the site, im pretty sure a lot of ppl would be interested since the original v3 has more memory than a v3r, but a v3r can have myfaves on it, edit- i read that you have a v3t i think the v3i for tmob has myfaves and im prety sure you can port that to your v3t ask in the v3t/v3i forum to see if they have an mp or file and as of my knowledge u can't put myfaves on a v3

i already have the myfaves on the v3t. that one is no problem. like you said tho xxalexisrulesxx, tmobile told me it would charge normal airtime on a non compatible phone. can i make my v3 compatible?

umm as of now no, no has been able to put myfaves on a v3 yet, but as i said im pretty sure theres a lot of people who would trade a v3 mobo for a v3r one, once you have a v3r just flash the stock mp fo tmobile and there you have myfaves

just look for a monsterpack in the downloads with things that you would want on it such as my favs and then you will be happy with the "new" things on it, but the razr is R374 and the v3r is differnt so make sure you know what your flashing

see in tmobil they were offering me a v3 for 10 bucks with a 2 year contract, with of course tmo's my favs plan. i decided to get a rizr instead so im sure if someone has that mp they can upload it and then you can flash it unto yours but im not sure it would work though...

you know sometimes tmobil are a bunch of liars... test it out for a day and then check your mins to see if it really does or doesnot apply, i find that hard to believe and find it quite ridiculous to say that...

but who knows they might be right.

i was going to take a shot at modding the v3 tonight after i got off work, but the offer of free drinks and pool made me reconsider. gotta make sure its charged anyways. i'll check back tomorrow under more sober conditions. any and all advice is greatly appreciated. :shots:

just so you know one of the moderators by the name of 98exploder told me last night that the tmo's my favs is just a java like application and has nothing to do with you being charged extra cause you don't have myfavs on your phone. tmobile reps don't know nothing...so just letting you know, he know a lot about firmwares...so i think he might be right.

Yes, the myfaves payplan has nothing to do with the bubble people thing on the phone. As long as you are subscribed to myfaves and the prefix is dialled it will be charged accordingly to the plan. With or without the corrolet java app. on your phone.

Really? man they are liars when it comes to getting stuff from them like unlock codes and other info but they hooked it up with our plan... it's cingular that got me...bastards, but hit them anyway for lying. they just want you to use their phones, salespersons will do anything for a sale, even lie
