My new US version Z6 has a problem with my S9 headset. When I try to connect the phone says "motorola S9 Headset has multiple profiles, please select media and retry" and the music will play only in one ear and the fidelity is not there. This isn't always consistent. I also have a Parrot MK6000 in my truck and I get the same error. The music plays but the media controls like volume, track skip and repeat buttons don't ever work. Also all the clicks and phone sounds when you push buttons all come through the speakers (both S9 and Parrot MK6000)

how did you try and set up the connection?

With the S9, I pushed the power button for about 7 sec to put it in pairing mode. Went to the bluetooth menu in the Z6 and had it look for devices. The phone found the S9 and asked for the security code and I entered it (0000) and it gave the message that the pairing was successful. THen it immediately tried to connect and I got the error about the S9 having multiple profiles, please select media and retry. Pairing with the MK6000 was nearly identical with the exception that the MK6000 says in its British accent "pairing successful"

Any ideas?

did you connect it as a normal device or headphones (i no it sounds stoopid!!)

Well, when I had it search for devices, I didn't specify 'Headset' just to look for all devices. In the profile it says Default service: Stereo Audio, Device COnnection: Yes, Device Type: Headset (and the Parrot MK6000 says Handsfree here)

Any thoughts?

delete the s9 profile and do it again but select headset

It has Headset as device type already. Also I believe my Parrot MK6000 has the same profiles and that one says Handsfree I'm going to try to delete both and try again as Headset

I'll let you know.

Well that didn't do it. When it tried to connect after pairing I got that same error. Hmmmm.

Yes, strange. Even stranger, now that I've used it and connected it now several times, its working good, no more stupid errors. I'm still skeptical. As far as my Parrot MK6000, I updated the software in the unit and that works perfectly as well. Hope this is helpful to someone else besides me.

It happened to me too. For some reason the headset was connecting as a regular headset and not an avrc device (or ad2p). What I did was delete the device, and then turned it on by turning on my music first. It was annoying.

I see this kind of problem for my A2DP headphones when it occasionally switches to remote control. If you go to:

Bluetooth->[highlight the device]->options->manage->edit device->default service
you can change it to "stereo audio"

At least for me, I find that the device has to be off to be allowed to edit it and then on for the rokr to fetch the list of services.
