View Full Version : V3re - deleted skins files that "linger" on skins menu

I have seen a few people mention this problem and can confirm this is a problem on my phone too.

Also, now when I try to select a skin that I have not tried to delete, it always applies the Alkali skin (menu colors and wallpaper). This happens regardless of whether the selected skin has been deleted or not.

I'm too new at this to figure out why it's happening.

Anybody confirm a solution?

Also, sort of OT, but has anyone developed a monsterpack of any kind for the V3re running the 3442A S/W?

With metta,

d.s.

to delete the skins you will have to delete the root file with the version of p2k tools that works on the re and no monsterpacks have been released yet but i am sure they are in the works

d.s. - v3re owners are looking for methods to remove skin names on the phone's list... what you're experiencing is "normal".

When someone figures out a solution, I'm confident it will get posted on this GREAT forum.

As you try out new skins, the only way to get rid of the skin name on your phone's list is to restore a previous backup. One night, I loaded about 6 new skins - decided which one I liked, then did a restore, then re-loaded only the new one I preferred. Otherwise your list of skins will GROW to be quite a list (in spite of removing the skin files using SkiMan)

Hope this helps! :)

Has there been any luck with this? I'm currently batting zero on using skins I've installed, so I decided to delete them and realized they persisted in the list.

Hey,

At least it's nice to know that I'm not the only one with this issue.
I thought I must be overlooking something simple, tried menu editor in PKTools ... not even close ... looked for a menu file to edit ... thought better of trying that.

I have absolutely no doubt that if anyone can solve this, I'll find the answer right on this forum ... thanks to those who have tried and/ or are working on it. Thanks for posting the question in the first place Dharmasattva.

Thanks for the link Dumba, it's appreciated!

Now I just need to wait for my new sim card and I'll be all set.
