Successful v3re Change Startup Shutdown Animation

I have successfully changed my startup and shutdown animations on my v3re. Using this (http://modmymoto.com/guides/customstartupshutdown.php) guide. And using this (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55484&highlight=v3re) information to gain access to the files.

good job "itty modder"LOL..... keep playin' but remember make full backups so if you go wrong its reversable. especially when you have it modded the way you like it saving the trouble of starting over:thumbsup:

when i start up p2kman it says connected then shows this
USB: IO Time-out!
CMD: Data write fail!
Volume name fail
what can I do to fix this?

Try P2K Commander 4.9.E or P2K Tools VS in the Downloads section. I think P2Kman might be too old for this phone.

i cant tell u how many times and how many ver of pkman,pkcom,pktools,motosetup,skiman u name it ive tried at least 3 dif ver of each and i just cant get any of them to work correctly. mexplorer is about the only program thats is letting me do anythig. i can do simple things like turn on java app loader(i think that was with (p2ktools) and download/install games (ive prob got like 100 or so on computer) i can do cust ring tones wallpaper screensave but when it comes to seem editing the programs either stop responding or says phone not connected or a program might work it just wont let me read or if it does read from phone it wont write to the phone after ive edited the seem. ive even completely uninstalled everything on my computer that i could find and reinstalled them ive went to motorola and downloaded the latest drivers even flashed/flex back to orig bootloader and settings. im about done (given up with it) havent had any luck with getting funlights to work either it shows on phone but will not ever work and ive been through all the guides i could find on the net not just for the funlights but for all issues ive had. many many many hrs on the computer. so i guess ill wait for a monsterpack to come out that has the features i like. (this is a brand new v3re if that makes any diff) If any one has sugg. please let me know. am i just missing/overlooking something really stupid and simple or what? tired and fustrated with it. ive modded other phones before so im not a complete nuby. i dont know why this is one is giving me so much trouble!!!!!!! even tried several diff cables!! thanx 2 all

Yeah, that sounds frustrating. Only thing you might try as well, is to unplug all other USB devices while modding. See if any of the other things like printer, USB Mouse or keyboard or whatever interfers with the p2K programs. Unlikely, but still worth a shot.

I (and others) have said this is in numerous posts, but here it goes again.

Google for a copy of RSDLite. I almost always have to start my sessions as follows. Unplug phone. Plug back in. Fist launch RSDLite, then once it shows the device, I minimize it. From there I can run P2KCommander (for file transfers of any file except those in the very root of /a/, only those in the /a/mobile/... directories) and P2KToolsV3 works for Seem editing just fine. As for Funlights, must use the modified funlights.pat file located is this formum elsewhere.

Sorry I can't offer more help, but that is my experience, strength and hope when working with a V3Re (R3442A variety).:thumbsup:

Much thanks to you jklong03 I had done that before but thought it was worth a shot, exact like u said still have same issues!!!! had the 'write failure' text again,- like i said i am STUMPED,- p2ktools just freezes....


HOPEFULLY SOMEONE WILL HAVE A MONSTER PACK SOON for v3re-AT&T since I seem to have no prob flash/flexing!!!!!!...!!!!!.....

thankyou Dumba for the sug. I tried that as well with no luck. I think its a computer issue. I had probs way back on previous modding years ago with motorola v220 and MPT If I remember correctly I wiped hard drive and reinstalled windows and before installing all my programs and setting up windows how I like it I installed MPT and it worked with no problems. Obv this is a last resort hopeing someone else had an answer before I resorted to this.

jklong03 THANKYOU Idont know if it was the reg cleaning, or the reinstall order of the programs or your encouragement to keep going but I finally have SUCCESS!!!!!!! Boot screen replacement done and pk comm was working as well for file transfers. I guess I didnt have the good funlights file because they didnt work (so Ill have to search for that) but at least I was able to transfer files :) Didnt realize the install and boot order was so critical if thats what helped anyway off to mod somemore (still would like to see a good mp from ya .....) jamesberger:thumbsup:

Glad I could be of some help! I am only having one problem with my current configuration, my Websessions screen will not display! I've enabled the menu item via Seem edit, got the menu item, but when I select it, nothing "appears", i.e. no list of my current websessions appear! However, I can hit the "menu" (center) button and I get the options to edit, set default, copy, etc... Very confused! :furious:

Anyway, here is the link to the funlights pattern that works for me!

D/L and replace the one you have with this. I assume you have enabled the Seem to play with the funlights? If so, replacing with this pattern should work for you!

Its kinda nice my wife and 2 kids all have the same phone plus i have mine fully bcked up now so i have the convience of playing around with mine with almost no worries!!! If I Come across the same prob Ill let ya know! Dont know if they are related but I had prob with my stuff folder when u opened it up u could see everything but as u moved around to select things they would disappear. They were still there u just couldnt see em. not exactly sure but i think i restored it back to normal then went back to deleting things for more room. think maybe I deleted to much!! Dont get me wrong Im by far no expert just trial and error thats how I roll. Didnt u have a speed mod u did so things wouldnt lag? do u have a post on that? MUCH Thanks again can u tell Im stoked about this phone now??
