View Full Version : iTunes issue w/ skipping songs auto.

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the cracked iTunes skipping through the songs automaticaly. I mean it will start out great, but after the first few minutes of the song it will skip to the next one, then do the exact same thing. I know the songs are good because I play them on the PC and they play completely.
I'm considering the iTunes Black version, but wonder if it's going to work any better. I mean it can't get any worse, right?

Miine never does that, and I am using the black version. Mine works great.

Sweet, thanks Poetic_folly, I'll try it out and see if it works any better. Plus I wanted to thank you for all the great info that you and the other Site Owners have contributed.

there is only one other site owner and that is me ;)

anyways i am betting it is your .mp3

you probably have it as variable bit rate and when it goes above 192kbps it skips to the next song

ok, for starters Thank you both. and after completely removing the basic hacked iTunes and restarting the phone to install the iTunes Black I was able to play 2 songs completely through before it skipped to the next one after 3 seconds. As for the MP3's they are all from the same albunm in the same playlist and were decoded at 192. as are all my MP3's.. Are you suggesting that even though the fle as a whole is encoded at the 192 bit rate, that parts of the files may be slightly higher and this causes the skipping? Should I try changing the bit rate to say 128?

You were right the songs in question were VBR.. I changed em up and they work great. thanks again cash & pf.

I'm having a similar problem, I converted my entire library on my computer to AAC but now some just skip by on my SLVR.. It's a real bummer, from what I can tell none are in VBR all 128K or less, still skip entire albums.. hmmm.. any ideas? Running Itunes Black and the newest Itunes for PC

try what cash says and if possible search for MOTOTUNES FOR FASTER TRANSFER of ur mp3 files! hey mr cash what happened to slvrhackers.net? thanks 4 everything o!

just to back up what people are saying...i had the exact same problem with the songs skipping like that and like everyone said the bitrate was the problem make. i made mine to be 128 and they work fine....the album art gets deleted off the idtag but i guess it's better than nothing.

Found out the problem.... I guess the Itunes 7.01 Software had some glitches in it, Downloaded 7.02 and works great now.
