Not sure about that one but I have installed the following skins and all worked fine on my V3re;
iPhoneMoto - Final, Vista_by_motol7_fixed_by_Luistohe123, windows vista and XYLYX_SuperEdit.

snyper - just wondering.... have you had certain icons that don't change with a new skin install on v3re? I've had to edit the mma_ucp file in order to get skins to be 100% installed on my v3re.

WM I've had a couple that mess up the menu because they are modded to use the mma_ucp that comes with them, but the mma_ucp isn't made for our specific phone. I think I said that right, it's been a while since I've messed with my skins, waiting for someone to figure out the mysterious file system. I keep the skiman options limited to only homescreen options to keep the menu to the default for our phone which is 3*3 I believe, I also prefer the list rather than icons, so these don't effect me.

What Im ended up trying was.....

Extracting (saving) the skin I use on my phone right now with Skiman, then importing the skin into Skinner4moto. I figure Ill just edit the hell outta the Alkali skin that came with the phone.

After that Ill edit the font.

Or you could try some skins you like and see if they work. I've found many that work. I think I use both v3 and v3r skins.

On the mma_ucp subject - we can get any menu icon we want by using MMA Advanced Editor. What does it mean "mma_ucp isn't made for our specific phone"?

Does the community need some generic mma_ucp for the V3re that accepts all V3r skins? Maybe that's worth some experimentation if others need that.

Did you check if your mma_ucp changes after reboot? It might run the mma_dcp cycle and as default loads itself back in a v3re version. Thats how it works generally on the v3 or v3r.

I don't know, I was just going by the labels on the folders with all the skins I've gotten. Each mma_ucp is in a folder labeled for what phone it is for. Dumba are you saying use any mma_ucp and make sure to overwrite both mma_ucp and mma_dcp? I haven't started experimented with skins much yet, trying to make a good blank mp with as much space as possible, and as many options enabled. Then I'll start working with the skins and what not, so for an MP how many skins, games, wallpapers, and any thing else you can think of, should I include.

Yes, in a way that is what I mean. If you overwrite them, the phone will create new default ones after reboot. So far the theorie, lol.

I WOULD NOT flash this until someone else helps you, because you could lock your phone to Cingular, and at this moment I'm not sure if anyone has gotten testpoint to work.

After download check the gif's and jpegs make sure they are 176X220. Just pass your cursor over them to display their size.
Remember there is not alot of disk space on the V3re.
Don't use skinman.
Don't install the mma_ucp.

I use P2kcommander.

You already tried to uninstall those skins who you install on v3re?
I tried, and the folders created by you or by skin, doesnt delete. :(

The skins issue is my biggest nuisance with the V3re. Lots of threads about this problem, one here: http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56717&highlight=v3re+skins

Hopefully, someone will find a way to fix this once and for all... any ideas from the experts?

I put skins on my v3re by unpacking them first. Second change the name of each dat file to either Glow.dat / or Disco.dat or what ever stock skin you really dont like. Do the same with the .ski file. Third just rename jpeg pic to what ever and upload to phone as a wallpaper(after skin is installed then just pick that jpeg u renamed set as wallpaper. You can try just leaving the name the same and the skin will pick that wallpaper automatic. I dont remember how I did it but when I change skins the right wallpaper is there everytime). Forth I used mexplorer or p2kcommander to transfer the new files I just renamed into the stock skin folder. This way u can sample the skin and if u dont really like it u can recopy stock skin back onto phone and not worry about an empty skin folder/name that u cant erase. When you find a skin you really like then upload to phone for good in its own folder with proper name. I used p2kcommander for this.
Hope this works for you, worked flawlessly for me after lots of trial and error(and reflashing)

If wallpapers are not there when you pick the skin then try this...
1-copy contents of the skin folder to a file on you desktop.
2-Open MotoSkin version 0.1.7, then open ski file in motoskin.
3-Highlight 'wallpaper' in middle box, then in right box click 'browse image' and choose the wallpaper inside you skin folder.
4-File, Save, close program.
5-Use mexplorer to upload entire contents of skin folder on your desktop to skin folder on phone.
ENJOY...
(If wallpaper is still not showing up when u pick skin then put a copy of it in a/mobile/picture with mexplorer and be sure to check the 'hidden' box on the left)

Sorry if someone has asked this already but I'm new to the site.

Has any one yet figured out how to erase the name of a deleted skin from the phone (ie: the dumb motorola ones that come with the phone).

Not that I know of ModApprentice451, when someone finds out how to do that hopefully they will post it on this site. Ive tried and had no luck. I would love to have to have just the names of the current skins I have on my phone, but untill then I will have to be satisfied with disco, alkali, or glow. (or mazdaspeed)(not only did I like the skin I also have a mazda 6 so I just had to install this skin!)
