To change the outside LCD picture you need to get connected:

to replace the startup animation, use p2kcommander to copy it to:
/motorola/shared/picture/customer_opening.gif
shutdown animation is copied here:
/motorola/shared/picture/customer_closing.gif
please note that you must name your custom pictures cutomer_closing.gif and customer_opening.gif

Trying to install the skin....... There is another method to install skins on the phone. And since you have a Verizon phone those Files will not work correctly. Verizon uses their own propitiatory software that is unable to be skinned.

Did you overwrite any existing files with those or create a new folder to put those files into? If you created a new folder use BitPim to delete the folder.

If you overwrote some existing files with them then you will need the default VZW skin to replace them.

yeah verizon...You'll have to flash over to alltell to get normal skins.

Then flashing to Alltel you will need to reprogram all the data settings if you use the Get It Now or Vcast

i just took it over to verizon they left the changes i had made to the phone and just updated the software i still got the dg logo on the back when i open the phone and screensaver on the front it works fine now just when closed dose it show that it is a verison phone start ups and shut down works thanks a lot guys i will be the only one that i know with a d&g knock off v3c

it works its alive wel thats until i tried to go to a gold housing can you say bricked it is a brick so a well case of drop check and off to verizon i go get new phone and gif loaded and everything back to working DO NOT TRY TO CHANGE THE HOUSING IT WILL SCREW UP THE PHONE, THE HOUSING DO NOT FIT JUST RIGHT THEY ARE BAD KNOCK OFFS

I was going to do the same a while back but after a while of having the D&G as wallpaper it was very bla... The housing would have made up for it but just as well a whole lot of work that others I've read had problems with the housing.

housing are a problem the colors did not match the parts did not fit right and you have to be very carefull with the bottom part of the phone, because one slip and you have a expensive paperweight the gold buttons did not work either there is a piece of rubber on the orginal buttons that do not come on the replacements and do not want to distroy my buttons to see if they have to be modded so with that no more outside modding till it can be done right
