OK, I'm still a kinda noob, so here is a basic question that the more guides I read just gets more confusing!! :duh:

What is the currently accepted method of creating a MonsterPack? Do I just do a MasterClear on my phone to erase all personal data, or a Master Reset? Also, is F&B3 the accepted method? and Include a RAMLDR always?

Basically, I am almost to the point where I think it would benefit the community to create a MonsterPack of my current V3Re (R3442A type) but there are so many tutorials that I am not sure may or may not be dated by the latest releases of F&B3 or RSDLite that I am confused.

basically a monsterpack is a backup of your phone when u get it exactly the way you want it usually it includes some skins a drm some seemedits just personalize it the way u like and then make a backup with FB3 and most of the time Flash and Backup is used to flash because on most phones you have less errors with modded files

Thanks Necitony, I asked this in a post a while back, I thought I subscribed to, never got an answer. What about pics I'm sure/sounds/games? Oh yeah and like he asked, Master Clear, or Master Reset, which one?

Dont leave any warez games on it.Dont leave contacts, pictures/videos, or messages you dont want to share with the world on it. If you master reset it, be sure to replace the mma_dcp with your mma_ucp or it will need to be reloaded. Dont master clear it or you will lose the walls, ringers, etc that you may want to share.

MB,

Remember when I was still just a baby n00b asking the same question?

Now I'm a full fledged n00b and have more answers, but still have more questions too!

My title might say 'Modalicious' but I'm still a n00b at heart...

:drinkin:

@jklong03 and HeyItsTJ4,

The best thing you can do when making a MP is to keep a list of all the mods you do to the phone that way you know exactly what you're putting out there. This might become very important once you release the MP when trouble-shooting it for folks who have uploaded it to their phone.

I like to include a 'Read Me First' file that details EVERYTHING that is included with the MP and all the mods done. Detail every single thing you do taking the phone from stock, what might seem minor could be huge later. This way the person using the MP will have all the info they need to undo any changes I might have made that they don't like or causes issue when they use the MP in their area.

Something very simple could lead to a bad problem that could make your MP unstable so it is good for you to have as well.

For example: Modding seem 002a_0001 will allow the phone to connect to the tower in AMR Full Rate or AMR Half Rate. AMR Full Rate and Half Rate are essentially about how many signals can be on the tower at one time, full rate provides the very best connection and clarity of call. Providers have figured out that half rate allows them to get twice as many calls on the tower and the decrease in connection and call quality is unnoticeable if you're in a high tower area.
WTF does this have to do with making a MP?
I'm getting there.....I live in a somewhat rural area so my tower coverage is spotty, if I am using my phone with AMR Full Rate on my signal strength goes up 1-2 bars. The downside is anytime I roam to a Cingular/ATT area where Tmo shares towers I will have NO SIGNAL because Cingular/ATT towers won't allow phones to connect in AMR Full Rate. When I travel I swap out to an unmodded copy of the seem and no worries of coverage. If I had not kept track of the mod I might not have known where to look for the issue when it came up after my MP release.

Imagine how disappointed you will feel if you can't fix an issue with your MP :hissyfit:

Once you get really going on modding your phone it is easy to overlook something later so making a list is the easiest way I know of to make sure the mod doesn't get overlooked or forgotten. It is a small thing to do to guarantee the success of your MP so you can enjoy mad love from your fans instead of disappointment. http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/love/love0063.gif

I think what jklong is asking, and what I would ask is what CG's do you not include. IE: We know CG1 is the firmware, and CG2 is the flex, but which ones are not necessary, or should NOT be included. I'd hate to mess up and share my IMEI with the world...yikes.

A Mp Is All The Cg's, Your Imei Isn't Part Of That. Imei Is Much Deeper And Essentially Part Of The Phone Itself.
