I recently bought a Razr that was set up with T-Mobile. I was told I could have it "flashed" so that it could be set up with Cingular (my carrier) and my Internet access would work.
I took my phone and had it "flashed." I can now access the Internet, but the phone itself is SOOOO screwed up.
It blanks out after about 3 or 4 minutes of use onto this white screen and cannot be restored unless you turn it off and back on again.
It does this after every incoming phone call as well.
Sometimes, it will start blinking on and off very rapidly and then go off into that white screen.
Is there any hope that this can be fixed or have I just got an officially screwed up phone now?
Thanks!

First, turn it off, hold # + * and press the Power button (the red one) for a few secs. The Bootloader will show up. Post the information that comes up.

Thank you for posting. When I hold down the # and the * keys, and then try to turn on the phone, the keyboard will light up briefly and then it just goes black again. The phone will not come on. I actually took it back to the place that "flashed" it today and they said it was fixed, but within minutes of picking it up, it was "blanking out" and "flashing off and on" again. Once it goes blank, the only way to use the phone is to turn it off and on again.
Any other ideas?

Ah, ok then.
Do as I said again. The keypad lights turn on for about 2 secs, right? When they turn off again, using a strong light, read the screen. Keep in mind that they are grey letters, on a black background, without any backlight.
It should say something like
"Boot Loader
XX.XX
SW Version
XXXXXX...
[...]"
It may seem like it's completely blank, but it's there.
Anyway, why don't you take it to the guy that flashed it and show him that it fails?
What I want to do is to try if it's a Software problem. But, it's highly probable that it's a Hardware problem (some loose connector, or something). In that case, you'll have to open the phone up and adjust the plugs, or take it for someone to do so.

Well, there it was! This is what it said:
Boot Loader
07.EO
SW Version:
R374_G_OE.40.5
7R_A1
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
I can take it back again...it's just that I live in a small town and this guy (and the only "cell phone fixing places") are a little over an hour away... so after two separate occasions of trying to get it fixed and being without it for weeks at a time, I thought I'd try to see what I could find out online.
Thank you so much for your help...even if we can't figure out what's wrong. I appreciate your kindness!

This is what we are here for :)
First of all, you have to download and install the drivers to get your phone recognized by the PC.
Follow this guide to do so: http://modmymoto.com/guides/getconnectednew.php
Then, you'll need RSD Lite (version 3.9 is the best and most stable one). You have to google for is as it's Warez, and we can't provide links for it.
To check that everything's alright, (after installing the drivers) open RSD and connect the phone in BootLoader mode (* + # and Pwr for a while. As you know, the phone will stay blank. Connect it anyway).
If something like this appears, we are going great: http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/3151/rsdzi7.th.gif (http://img225.imageshack.us/my.php?image=rsdzi7.gif)
Post if everything goes alright so far.
If so, I'll explain you how to backup your phone, just in case.
After making your backups, we'll flash your phone again with to Stock, or with a Pre-Modded MP, as you wish.
Now, if after flashing, your problem continues, then it's a Hardware problem for sure.

You'll be able to tell you're dealing with a novice here... sounds like I am going to be plugging my phone into the computer? How do I do that and what do I need? I'm not completely clueless, as I do have an iPod & a camera that I connect to my computer...but what type of cord would I need to have?
Thanks!

you will need a usb cord with the mini usb end on it. mine is the same as my mp3 player and my old camera. check your camera's usb and see if it is the same. if not you need to get one. you can order them online or get them at a computer/electronics store.

Ahh, I see. Let's go back then.
Yep, you'll have to order/buy/get a USB cable...
