Setting up AIM?

I remember before when I set AIM up on many other motorolas that when you first set it up it asks you if you are setting up AIM or ICQ etc. but on this one there isn't that option.

I put apristel's "got n00b?" MP on it and I'm wondering if that is why.

So my question is, how do I set AIM up on my phone?

I don't want to start too many threads so I'll ask this here too..

I had my multimedia messaging working earlier when i found a websession file to put on my phone. While trying to find the settings for a friend I went to the screen where Cingular is checked, and underneath it was MMS. Instead of highlighting MMS and hitting the softkey i hit the middle button of the navigation thing. The phone froze and went white, then rebooted itself, and the messeging stopped working. Internet still works though...

I went to Cingulars website (forwarded me to att) and checked the settings and they were all right.

I then put that same websessions back into my phone, but it still won't work.

Does anybody know why?

called ATT and told them my story, they are saying to do a master reset. Problem is i'm afriad that will just rbick the phone since its gunna be looking for all the moto stuff... any ideas?

If you don't have many important files in your phone, reflash the MP. That'll fix the messaging for sure.

And, does AIM show up in the menu? If not, you can activate it with P2K Menu Editor. I mean, make an icon to it in the main menu, and access and configure it from there.

I've never tried this, but, theoretically it would work:
Flash only the CG2 (the Flex). I guess you'll have to use F&B3 to do this, as RSD flashes the whole thing automatically.
This will reset all settings and stuff back to stock.

Hmm, before doing this, try a master reset... If that doesn't work, flash the CG2.
If that fails, go for the full MP :P

will the master reset not screw up the phone? they told me it would be setting back the regular wall paper the regular theme and everything. If the phones looking for those files, they aren't there...

Hmm... well, I sincerely don't know...
I'd make a full backup, and then try the master reset. If it fails, restore the backup and done.

Also, PLEASE, make yourself a PDS backup and a Full Backup. They'll save you from a lot of headaches.

F&B won't work for me, might have to do with my bootloader (08.29) but i'm not sure. I got the problem figured out though, seems to be a glitch with the phones options.

This is what it was:
Usually when i get an MMS message and hit reply it sends the reply as an MMS also, so instead i just create a new SMS message (i have unlim. texting but only 1MB transfer). While checking the websessions i saw something that said reply as MMS or SMS and i changed it from MMS to SMS thinking that next time i get an MMS message i can just reply instead of creating a new SMS to send it as an SMS.

Well i changed it back to MMS and then i was able to send and recieve mesages again.
(my browser is still wierd though, like its not loading all the data, but i don't really use that anyway, only reason i have internet is for MMS.)


I still don't know what to do about the AIM thing though. Right now i just have it set up (through AIM) to forward messages to my phone while i'm offline. Only problem is i can't start conversations then...
