I have a Motorola V3, and i have replaced the internal keyboard of it as the original one cracked off.
But whenever i start the V3 the lights go on, but just after the startup screen the keypad goes off. and it never gets ON even if i keep my finger on the light Sensor above the Keypad and press any jey. or totally go in a completely dark room. Also there in option [settings] its 20 secs for the backlight to go off.
ANy solutions for the above........

Maybe the light sensor got messed up while you were replacing the keypad.
It's the most probable reason, as you didn't do any software modification, or anything like that...
Hopefully it's just a bad connection in the cables, and not a ripped flex or cable.

yeah just open the phone back up and make sure everything is securely connected.

Did that thrice or so, But how come its starting after i switch it off for a long time and start it again & a quick restart does not do the same. I'm lil' confused out here. I'll try the Funlight Mod. I hope it might help.
Can i revert back the Funlight Mod by just reversing the steps ???????????
Flashed the Phone with a Two Different MP, But still no Lights. But when i try it with the Original [Internal] Keypad it lights UP as normal, the problem with the original is that the connector going to the LCD is completely torn. So cannot use it and thats y i bought a new Keypad....
So the only thing comes to mind is either the Keypad is bad or not compatible with my phone........

Mine did the same thing after one day of being new. Ordered new one and replaced it. I think sometimes they make "lemons".

if you ordered it from ebay or some place like that, it's likely not even OEM moto. that might be the issue too.

I didn't bought it from ebay. I'm located in India & i got it from a mobile spare parts market its a big market u get everything related to Cell Phones. Got it cheap for 5US$. So it looks like after all i have to buy another one will do it nxt month as its far from my place. As those a$$ gave me a V3i housing instead of a V3 and after reaching home i realized that its a V3i housing after looking the front LCD cover thing which is bigger than the v3. And now they are not ready to take it back.
So some how i fitted the V3 stuff in the V3i housing. The only problem the front LCd is half covered under the cover.............
Will let u guys know after bringing the new KeyMat.........
Yesterday was just going through some settings on my V3 & enabled Event Lights for it. And to my surprise when i got a call they Keypad lights where blinking. So after testing for sometime it was still blinking when receiving a call & not normally.
Also i tested it with Rhythm lights and the keypad lights were reacting to it too. It was working only under this too option but not litting up normally even if i removed the battery inserted again restarted the phone several times. So after the whole day it finally went off & is not going on till yesterday night.
Also have tried to turn off the battery saver seem option but no use, can any expert shed some light for me on this, why & how ????????

Normal keypad light is triggered by: light (the light sensor)
Event Lights are triggered by: software (when it detects an incoming call, the lights blink)
and Rhythm lights are triggered by: sound (it it's activated, and it detects a sound, they blink)
So... My guess is that the Light sensor is messed up :D

i have disabled the battery save option, using the seem... But no use it sometimes lits on only if i keep the phone off for a long time and switch it on. but the keypad is not lit always normally. Also have tried covering the light sensor completely by opening the phone but no use. Also have tested the phone with TTC 1.2. all test responds perfectly except the Keypad test [And i guess the TTC On's the keypad by force means no sensor or sound thing here].
I'm really confused, coz if the keypad leds are messed up y does it starts sometimes. and if it starts it will but wont stay on for normal usage........

honestly if you bought it at a "mobile spare parts market" for a very cheap price. it's probably not REALLY brand new. even if they sold it as brand new. i really do doubt it. unfortionately it sounds like a hardware issue to me. not really much we can do to help you with that. about the only thing you can do is buy a new one and see if it works better.

Thank you NightTrainRider, I have bought this locally, the housing & keypads are OEM versions. The only problem is this place is too far from where i stay & u need a entire day to go there. The entire market is closed on sunday & its the only day i'm free. So very rare case of me going there................. Will seek help on other forums too till i get time to bring a new one or someone sort's out something for it......
Thanks everyone for the help till now................
