When i open up mobile phone tools there is no way to get to the multimedia feature. I looked on the tutorial on this site and there MPT had an icon with music notes, mine doesnt have that. I have gone through the updating and restarting so i have the new one.

Make a new profile and tell MPT you have a GSM V3, I am assuming you don't?
Type *#9999# on the phone and please post what comes up..

Just do it exactly like he showed you. With the little * then #9999#. It will bring up you software and stuff like that. It helps to let us know what we're dealing with.

Yeah its a CDMA V3c like I thought.
This is what I would try:
MPT's SETUP menu -> General Setup -> Communication tab -> Change Modem -> click Next -> (select device screen, highlight your Moto USB modem) -> click Next -> check the box for "Do not automatically detect the driver -> click Next -> Select CDMA from the left column.
if you choose CDMA, and then V3c, the MMC icon is still grayed out. instead, choose Moto GSM, V3.[I] the MMC will now work. however, to synch your phonebook, you will need to go back and choose Moto CDMA>V3c or create 2 diff. profiles
1. Moto CDMA V3c Phonebook
2. Moto GSM V3 Ringtones
Other possible fixes...

MPT Multimedia Center option grayed out? Possible V3c Fix? (http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=803064)
Installing MPT and enabling Multimedia Studio in MPT when using the USB Data cable. (http://mark.cdmaforums.com/V710_MPT_Cable.htm)
I am not positive which is the best solution, as I have never done it. I imagine some of the V3c gurus will read this and shed some more light on the subject. I think my method on top might be the way to go... Also use the live update feature in MPT and get it up to date.

I guess Verizon doesn't want you installing your own ring tones. That way you have to buy them all from them for $2.99. :(

Choosing E815 might work, but do these seeme dits and you can select V3c, and everything will work (except for Calendar, cause there's a bug in the program with the V3c)
First follow the Getting connected to your PC guide and install MPT. In order to get MPT to recognize your phone, do this seem edit first:
Quote:
seem 2742 Offset 6A Bit 0 check to enable
If it still won't connect, then do this one as well
Seem 2827, Record 1, Bytes (h) 22, Offset 0006 check the boxes for bits 0-2-3-6 and uncheck the boxes for Bits 1-4-5-7
Then it'll connect!

When you switch the phone to the GSM v3 it will get you to the multimedia, but you cant transfer anything, it comes up saying failed to communicate with the mobile device. Id rather not do any seem edits just because I dont want to screw anything up I just started this, Ill go back to tryin to get p2k to work

Yeah it won't work like that. You didn't try connecting as an E815? That phone is nearly identical to the V3c as far as the software goes. Plus you can always stick the card in a card reader and copy it over that way

I did try that but it never was initialized i had to exit, and i actually have a card reader but when itry to transfer something to it it says it needs to be formatted, nothings working for me right now. One good thing about nextel it is so easy to do ringtons games wallpapers etc. too bad the actual phone part isnt to great
