Doesn't the phone need a light sensor in order for the battery save to be useful? Seems like if battery save worked, the keypad wouldn't light up when the flip was opened in a lit up environment.

The W490 does have a light sensor. Left of the keypad above # 4.

To the original thread starter, I'm curious has to what seems must be clicked on or off in order to perform such modding tasks if you would so kindly provide me with some help that would be much appreciated.

You can use the SEEM Functions feature of P2KCommander 3.9.E to do those mods; it's as easy as checking or unchecking boxes in a list of functions, and clicking Write to Phone.

(By the way, the OP didn't "unlock EDGE internet," he enabled the EDGE icon on the display. The W490 will use EDGE if it's available, but by default, it will only display the GPRS icon.)
