Is it just my phone or has anyone else had problems with Flashbackup getting an error when reading the phone after flashing to Apristel's T-mobile MP (the one with authenticmotoblack alien skin). I've got it modded the way I like and wanted to make my own mp for easy 1 click restoring, but FB can't read my phone now.

Either way, I really like this MP....the alien skin is very cool.

My wife uses the unbranded MP, and Ive never had that prob... would the branding make that much of a difference?

Which version of FB are you using 2.62 or 3?

Does the phone connect in RSD Lite?

Fb 2.62. The phone works fine with everything else, and it was working with fb as well before the mp. Now I get this message when fb tries to read the phone:
"Access violation at address 0049E3F9 in module "Flashbackup.exe". Read of address 00B1C001"

I can still use rsd, p2kcom, etc.

Try a new copy of fb2.62. That sounds like a software issue.

Have you tried rebooting?

I already d/l another copy of fb2.62...same error message. Pc and phone both rebooted. Very strange as I used fb to make a full backup before installing the mp.

Is it possible part of the memory got a corrupt bit while flashing? Maybe try reflashing the mp?

Back up your contacts, pics, mp3's, etc. Try Flashing a different MP to the phone, then see if FB will read it. If so, then you may have found a bug in FB 2.6.2 related to that specific MP, however I agree that it sounds more like sw issue..

The weird part is that fb 2.62 worked fine until mp was flashed. Tried fb on another pc and same error. Must be a chunk of memory that got corrupted during flash.
Any other software that does the same function of fb2.62?

I've found someone else with the same problem over at motox. If anyone cares to read it there. (http://www.motox.info/showthread.php?t=24774) Not sure what mp he used, but at least it's not just me :D

hmmm I wonder whats going on. You could try fb3.

I'm leaning to a few corrupt sectors of memory. If I keep running/shuting down FB, it gives me 3 different memory addresses when polling the phone. I'll take the plunge in the next day or 2 and reflash the mp and upload all my personal junk....it's just a bit time consuming.

And for the record....I'm not bashing Ap's MP at all. It's very cool, so don't think it's going to break your phone. I just had a slightly unsuccessful "successful" flash

Yeah before you do that try fb3. I'm going to flash the t-mob pack to a v3 of mine and see if i get the same errors.

"SxhCodec has encountered a problem and needs to shutdown. Send error report to Microsoft?"

As much as I know about computers, it's things like this that make me want to bang my head on the monitor.

I run into that error message occasionally as well, but not usually following a pattern of crashes from other programs.

If I leave the error message alone, shxcodec runs fine. I just click the "dont send" button when I'm done using it :gasthrower:

Whatever it takes to get the job done.
