In my never ending quest to gleen more knowledge of modding the razr, I came across this little gem originally posted by ArcherIV:

"Access Menus With Flip Closed
I didnt made this guide. I'm just rescuing it from what i like to call some abandon... It has been posted before here at least two times. One by Opiate911 and the other by JizzMoto33. It has proven to work in the V300, V3 and the V3i... i guess it works on other phones for sure.

This is my guide to get as much as possible out of the RAZR when the flip is closed. You can make calls, play mp3s, take pics, adjust settings, and more. It is a more complex setup, but once you're done it's fantastic!

Open P2K MenuEditor.

First, go to the Phone Key Mapping tab. Choose Open SEEM -> Open from phone. You will see all of the keys appear in the window.

Select the "Voice" key (on right side with phone closed) and change the value to "Joystick: Fire(middle button)

Select the "Smart" key (small button @ bottom left when closed) and change the value to "Headset default smart key". (It doesn't matter if you have a BT headset or not)

Select the volume up key (top left with phone closed) and change the value to "Joystick right".

Now choose Save SEEM -> Save to phone. The phone will reset and the buttons will have their new functions.

Now the outside buttons perform these functions:

"Fire" - Menu, Select, Speakerphone, Ignore Call(send to voicemail)

"Headset" - press to call, press and hold to cancel/hang up

"joystick right" - skip track, change setting

"volume down" - scroll, volume, change ringstyle (same as original)

Next, go back to the Phone Menu Tree. Choose Open menu -> Open from phone. The items in your phones main menu will appear in the window.

Click on a menu item that you don't need and then under Parameters -> Menu item name choose "Shortcuts".

Once Shortcuts is on the menu, move it down the list so that it is in the 5th slot. This way when you go to the menu, Shortcuts is the first item selected.

Now choose Save SEEM -> Save to phone. Again, the phone will restart, and when it comes back on you can see the changes to the menu.

Next, add shortcuts to the list if you haven't already. For example if I want the phonebook to be the first shortcut, I find phonebook in the menu, then press and hold the menu button. Then make sure the phone book is set to shortcut key 1.

Now you can try it.

Close the phone and and push the new "Joystick fire" TWICE- (old voice key). The first press actually goes to the main menu, but in icon mode it will not show on outer screen. The second push accesses the shortcuts.

Now the outside screen should show the shortcuts menu. Phonebook should be 1st on the list, if not scroll down to it using the bottom volume key (middle left - Note this button was never changed).

When phonebook is highlighted, push the "fire" button again. Then scroll down to person you want to call. Press the "Headset" key (old smart key). It will dial the number and when the call picks up, press "fire" to go to speakerphone (If it won't dial change "Settings->Headset->Voice dial to OFF). To hang up, press and HOLD the "headset" key. (Pressing and holding is always the cancel key - red button.)

Now try more shortcuts:

Add "Sounds" - access it from the shortcuts and you can scroll through your playlists and songs. Select the song you want to hear by pressing "fire". While it plays you can press the "Joystick right" (top left) to skip to the next track.

Add "Camera" - Use "fire" once to snap a pic, then "fire" again to save it.

Add "Settings-> Connection-> Bluetooth Link-> Setup" - scroll down to power and press "joystick right" to change setting from On to OFF.

Add "Audio" - Use the "joystick right" to change the ringstyle or scroll down to the details, press "fire" and scroll down to the setting you want to change.

Any menu on the phone that is TEXT only will show up.

You can still change the ringstyle the old way by using the volume down key and "joystick right" to change the setting.

If you don't want to set up your shortcuts this way you can change Settings->Personalize->Main Menu->View to "List". Then use P2K MenuEditor to add any items to the main menu. DO NOT ADD "ACTIVATION".

Also, Videos and Pictures will not work on the outside screen. When I tried my phone froze up and I had to remove the battery.

The only disadvantages are losing the ability to scroll up & down, and losing the voice key. So make sure that all of your voice dial names are set before you change the buttons. (You can reassign the voice key to an inside button like Messages or Browser).

This is the best way I have found to set up the buttons. Hopefully, you all will enjoy it too!!"

Great mod for those who only have one free hand

It should be in one of those. probably the Benzol Kit.

I could do this with P2K Menu Editor.
It's quite easy... I don't like it though :p
