I am going to try this again as I really like it, but if you remember the last time I tried I could not get a ringer when someone not in my phone book called, only a vibe. Is this normal, or am I missing the obvious?

Yes, just add a ringtone with p2k app, and restart the phone. I just did it to make sure.

OK I got the ringtone, now which P2K app do I need? How exactly do I make the transfer with the app? I know how with MPT, but the P2K program I have isn't very clear. Sorry if I sound stupid, but it's only because I am.

I use p2k commander, but it doesn't really matter. Just transfer the file to a/mobile/audio. And it might not hurt to switch the ringle style to silent before you do.

I am new to modding too but I didnt tiptoe......the first time i modded my phone i crashed it pretty hard......i didnt know anything about the different S/Ws so i flashed the wrong file.....i figure if your gonna do it .....do it big. You tiptoe .... I used a sledgehammer. But you have to make some mistakes if you are going to learn.

I am using the the MP listed here with the graphics from the hitman MP. (Cingular User Here) and it is working great. I just liked the Icons for the Battery and signal better on the Hitman MP. I saw a Duricell Battery Icon once but I cant find it again.

I have heard that with a range of 1-9, most experts think something less than 5 is a max. Is this correct??
I notice that on Apristel's listing for his MP it says it is set to 3.
I am a bit hard of hearing, but as "stock" is 1, I would think 3 would be a big help.

In reading the "unlock-free method" guide there is something that appears a conflict (probably a lack of understanding on my part):


7) Start in bootloader mode (hold # and * while powering on). In bootloader mode after the downgrade it is not unusual for the phone to show a blank black screen with no info, don't worry, though, it is still in bootloader mode!
8) Open up Moto Unlocker and connect you phone

'FLASH MODE "PRESS *# + POWER"
button> "CONNECT PHONE IN FLASH MODE"

9) Run Moto Unlocker click connect and yes

< 6 sounds like # + Power gives bootloader mode and 8 looks like # + Power gives Flash Mode>

Only, with MAJOR support from Apristel, Trexflyer, Sandroc,Poetic Folley and many others, I have succeeded all down the way! I loaded my saved ringtones to the phone with this MP with P2K Phone File Manager but when I try to use them, I can't. The attributes for them all is 70000, should it be something else?
When I go to ring styles>loud detail> all I get is vibe options, no sounds...?
Also, I kind of liked some of the sms animations and three of the Multi media message animations. Any idea where I can get them? I know, I should have saved them before flashing. I'm doing the kicking and don't need your help with that thanks.

Fixed it with the P2K tools program and Apristel's help. I can't use the motomixer though but LOVE the MP. It unlocked fine and works great. Thank you so much.

They should work now, but to use them, you have to have the video camera on, and then hit menu, set it to the style you want and then return to the video camera.

There isn't any reason why you cannot use MPT before the getting connected, no biggie. To make a virgin backup fb3 will work perfect. I'd downgrade the bootloader first, using the archy flash. (flash with RSD Lite) Then you can make a PDS backup, and a fullbackup. This is very important to do, since its your free ticket back in case something goes wrong.

After you make the PDS backup, you'll see a FULL BACKUP -32mb option, check that box and make that backup as well.

Once you have those, burn em on a cd and keep it on your computer as well. The more backups the better.

Here's what I did;
For the video styles, I was told to check Seem 0032_0001 - and make sure all these are set to 1

offset 53 bit 7
offset 54 bit 0
offset 72 bit 6
offset 81 bit 2,3,4,5,6,7 (I noticed bit 1 was already set)
offset 82 bit 0
offset 84 bit 3
Then I was told to set it back to colour/color before exiting the camera app.
Nothing changed for me so I reset the seem to the one you made in your MP. I don't mind much, there's so much more room to video record now that it hardly matters that I can't use the styles.
You did some really killer work, thank again.

I have not been able to find a copy of it: The *#9999# says it is:

Are these sufficient for a backup before going further (I would like to have capability of restoring to original in case a mechanical problem [ not of my doing:) ] arises during the warranty period.
Is a copy of the original MP available - or maybe I am misunderstanding what is required.

Happens all the time, not only with this MP, but other flashes. You did the right thing.

I plan to flash this MP to my T-Mobile Razr (s/w version R374_G0E.42.1.0R_A). I'm thinking this will work fine. My only concern is that all the stock ringers, pics, and apps will be wiped from my phone once I flash. How can I keep those/re-load them to the phone?

Ah ha! Ok, so the information I received was indeed correct and I somehow failed on my first attempt to edit the seem to activate the video styles. I went through the seem and checked off all the offset bits I was told to and there were only two I had to deal with, the rest were already checked or turned on.
I had to check offset 84 bit 3 and offset 72 bit 6 then
I restarted the phone and it works now. I don't know if these changes will effect anything else on the phone but so far so good.
Thanks you guys, big time! After getting this right I almost feel like I have an subtle clue as to what a clue of what I'm doing might feel like if I knew what I was doing. For now, it'll do.

Thanks for the great MP. It's great to have all that space and yet still have a good looking skin and icons.
I did have one problem after the flash. The phone wouldn't turn off. I pulled the battery, then I reflashed with .17R firmware. Now it seems OK.

I made some astro wallpaper images and a cl.gif to match the theme. (The alien was a bit scary after a while ;) ) Where should I post them as a thank you?

I just flashed this Monster Pack. For some reason when I have an incoming call, the phone like shuts down. Why? And on some it don't shut down. And when I restart the phone, it makes like a thrashing sound, similar to a hard drive, unless its the vibe doing it. And I uploaded some ringtones to the phone and why won't it change to the ringer I want assigned? Something has got to be wrong here. Also, anybody have an excessive amount of static coming through after flashing. Before, I never had that problem.

Ive never had the static issue. Go to your a/mobile/audio folder and delete the two files that end with .db. then restart. As to the thrashing... 17R vibrates on startup. Its normal.

yeah, on the way to school. I thought about it and I remembered that I forgot to delete the 2 .db files.

The Static issue. I guess I might getting interference inside the house. I made some phone calls on the way to school and they sounded good. I'm hoping its just inside.

The shut down has happened to me twice so far. But I got some calls and the phone didn't shut down these past few times. I'll keep ya'll up to date on that issue.

I also just noticed that this MP changed my S/W Version down I guess. Before this MP I had tried the other MP which had the newest S/W Version. Would it be OK to flash the S/W Version back to the latest version? I wonder if the updated S/W would fix some problems.

The shutdown could be from you using ring lights. go into the ring styles and turn them off.

just one problem.... I put a new language pack on my phone, (english/portuguese) and it changed my font to stock (i think).... so i put the font pack back on my phone, and now i only have english... is this normal?

The LP and font are one thing. So you need to find a font with the correct LP for your use..or make one.

Well the doing the splash would require people to have a custom drm for the splash (they would have to stick the splash image in each drm) thus making it alot more difficult to change the DRM. So by not doing that mod, i left the door open for easy DRM changing. :)

So really my sword is mightier than the splash.

No mp's for the v3r yet, and i don't roll with startup/shutdown animations, i want on / off fast. You can change the cl.gif to your liking no problem, just replace the cl.gif in the system directory on the phone with another 96x80 cl.gif

First of all a thanks for your Tmob pack.
Let me elaborate I have inherited my teenage daughter V3 I was looking for a new housing (this one is the Magenta) and found you guys . Spent 2 days looking and reading about flashes and seem, finally tried this morning crash!!:banghead: could not even turn the darn thing on. Anyhow used the *#power trick loaded Tmob pack and it works like a charm:jumping: .
Now to my question I see that your pack Cingular pushes the video cam to mp4 quality, but not the Tmob pack so can you kindly help me in pointing me in the direction to where I can found a seem to update the cam to MP4, and to all improvement to the video side.

Hi All:
It has been a year since AP released this MP. As I have been around this forum for a while I am aware of the problems he has/had and was wondering if he is stil on his "Sabatical" and if he has been in contact with any of the members here in regards to a return to modding? I still ues this MP and was in Awe of his abilities to do MP"S.

Hi, Yes Apristel won't be able to be back for a while stil. He keeps up from time to time with us and he will be back. I will relay your message, thanks for asking after him. In some older threads you will find his address and regulations explained what can be send and what not. Have a look through his latest posts to find those Info. He would be very happy to hear from other modders ,

AP - I load your MP on my V3 (AT&T/Cingular) and I edited seem 004a_001 and 0032_001 to enable custom power up and shut down graphics/audio. The power off cycle is so quick the graphic/sound doesn't get a chance to play. Is this another SEEM edit or is it something in the flex/flash that can't be controlled in the SEEM ? The power up graphic/audio works ok. The power down does not (for reasons just stated).

My girl's v3 just packs up and "hangs" - each time i take it to the cell shop, they charge me 100 bucks to get it fixed, by downloading software from Vodacom, our local network, and then the phone works fine for two months and pack up again, and the paying process starts over again. Can't I do it myselg through internet?

well your first step is to MAKE SURE of your model before doing anything to it. press *#9999# on the handset and it will give you the software version on the phone. if it starts with R374 you have a standard V3. if it is anything else post it here so someone can point you to the proper forum. if it IS R374, if you look in the dowload section under phonefiles>v3(r374)>flexes there is a vodaphone flex you can download then flash to the phone using rsd lite or flash&backup. i would use rsd personally but it is warez and you have to find it on your own. there is a download of flash&backup in the downloads. but keep in mind that you don't HAVE to use thier flex. you can flash any monsterpack for you phone model. you just have to setup the wap/mms settings afterward so text and internet work. after you do that i would then look in the forums in one of the stickies at the top there are the 2 newest firmwares (.15r and .17r) i would flash one of those to upgrade to the newest version. remember MAKE SURE you're dealing with R374 first or you will turn it into a big fat :bricked:
