converting fonts

Everyone in the fonts forum must be asleep...need help with moto font editor...i'm trying to convert the Halo font from an L7 to work on a V3. 1st...I've split a stock LP with SHXCodec, I cant find this cg4 file says to open, but I did open the halo font and it fills in all the spaces. Now, when I highlight all the symbols and click processing and select win font the box comes up...the guide says to select a desired font and click replace. Thats the big question, I'm not creating from scratch, obviously the halo font is not in the win dialog box and doesnt need to be replaced...it's there. do I skip this part? will recompiling do the conversion? I did change font but never converted from one phone to another

prob be easier just to download the windows font and make it for the V3 thats what i always do.
