A mobile shop dealer told me that the defect of these brand of mobiles is the ribbon failure which you have to change after a short time and he showed me four V3 waiting for the ribbons to be changed. My mobile is the 5th one in that queue but I wondered if it's the ribbon after all. It's the screen that it's not powering on while the keypad does.Does someone knows how to know if it's the ribbon failure or not?

Yep it's the ribbon, just fixed mine last night, cleaned out the connector and the cable in alcohol and worked fine

Ask them to try the PCB on a different screen (that's how I checked my V3 last time when I had the same prob). And, as soon as the guy moved the PCB from my V3 to another one, the screen was working perfectly well. Or, you could try a replacement flex cable (along with the keyboard part), and see if the screen will work then. Either way, the guys at the shop (if they're kind enough), could prove easily that its the cable.

^yep and the ribbon is easy to replace, but the only difficult part is that you have to completely dissassemble the phone.

Well it's difficult at first, but when you have done it as many times as me you can do it blindfolded(which i dont recommend in case you slip) Just Be Careful!!!

I took it to be fixed but the technician phoned me up telling me that it's not the ribbon that it's need to be changed but the chip.
There is really a chip in the V3?
Can it be it that needs replacing?

Well, the only "chip" is the motherboard. Sounds iffy to me.
Sounds like a scam to me....

Sound like my friend who took his car to the dealer,
they told him he needed an idler box,
so he asks another mechanic "what's an idler box?"
He pauses and says "Only think i can think is it sits there and idly takes your money.

I will keep you informed about this and see how it will end. If they say they changed the chip, with your knowledge we'll find out if it's true or false!
do you have a backup of the phone? or know your previous IMEI number? dont tell us what it is...but keep it handy and see if it has changed when the supposedly "change the chip"...
