Does anyone know if you can put multiple fonts (Language Packs) in the V3? I have a few and I dont want to have to flash it everytime i want to change fonts. When I look at my Language setting it only has English. Thats a good thing since i cant read any other language but maybe there is a way to load like an English2 for another font?
I tried my hand at making a font but didnt do very well.:confused:

Interesting concept......I would like to know the answer to that as well.
You should pm chick as i am sure he knows more about it... but i think it's not posible, although i like the idea and i think i am going to try this my self... lol:crazy1: :biggthumpup:

Not possible. Its on my list of things to do. Simple in concept but tough in execution. Would basically have to either build a Java program to access the LP and change it ON THE FLY so just a restart would do it, but that could never work since you have to go to boot loader mode to upgrade, OR you could essentially find out how Moto is reading the font from the LP, and create a way to do that via Java or a menu instead of replacing the entire LP. But we're talking changing the entire OS, now, not unlocking little features that we re already there which is what we basically do now.

@ poetic: Yeh... but wouldn't it be posible to make a lp with the same lang. 3 or 4 times and some how give them diferent fonts??? i mean you can change the lang. on the fly...???

Ok... i made a LP with 1X Dutch and 2XEnglish and flashed it to my phone... the phone is still working ok but i only see Dutch and 1x English, so maybe i have to change the name of the lang. to English1 and english2 or something... going to try that now
If it works, it should be named the Ruud method.... fair is fair....and found only on M3!!!!!

I think I have a direction for you to go in here. When I first started messing around with my phone I did the XPBlue skin and in order to do it at the time with the software I had....I had to rename the DAT files to match one of my already loaded skins ie: Scarlet.dat and so on. How about tricking the phone into thinking it is another language and instead its another font? Just spitballing here.

Yeh m8, that's what i mean... i am not even on the font thingy, first let's trick the phone in believing English and English is not the same.
So i renamed one english to english1 and another English i named English2, but the phone only sees one.
^^^^You get this??? because i am confusing my self right now... LOL

language and fonts are not the same... well in a v3 they are and they are not... You can change any lp by at or remove languages... but i can't trick the phone in seeing more than one English @ the moment, but i won't give up...:up:

Oh, yeah, thats the method I was thinking too. Yeah, ruud, for now try just REPLACING the whatever language (dutch, for example) with another english font, and naming that other font still dutch. Yeah, sorry motov3, thats what i was thinking too, didn't realize he was trying a diff way.

OK...lets break this down.

Ok, went and had a pee and a chicken tenders meal, I realized: duh. This method can't work. When you change fonts in your phone you are not changing font throughout the whole phone, you are merely changing the default text strings for the message you are in~nothing to do with overall bit structure.
I still think we could find a way, but this isn't it. :/

At least we CAN change the fonts. Unlike the unfortunate owners of those "other" phones.
OK...lets break this down.

This was more or less what i was doing... only it doesn't seem to mater weter you rename it or not, it will still see it as English (or what ever you use) and there for only show ONE of them on you're phone.
@poetic: i hope u don't mind, but i still think this could be the (or one of the) way(s), so i be trying this for a while.:biggthumpup:

Hmm. No luck with mine, built the correct LP and tried flashing it on, changing language, resetting, no difference. Perhaps if both fonts were created from scratch so to say and imported it would work better than simply copy paste?
Yes maybe, but that's gonna take some time... well it will if i do that anyway... and since i had a long day today, i guess that's something for tomorrow as i am a bit lazy @ the moment...

back to the task at hand... Im not as savvy as Id like to be about the LPs...is it even possible to have separate fonts for each supposed language?

I forget that most of you guys aren't from the US. That's not a bad thing its just the time difference. Its 8:20pm here in Louisiana and I am at work now. Just thought I would drop in to see the progress. I am glad I could give you guys some new ideas for modding the motos. And when we couldn't edit DRM. ;)
And when we couldn't change the splash screen. :thumbsup:

I don't know how to make this work. But i can tell you why it can't work
you can maybe put two english languages in LP, but they will both draw characters from same map. Alphabet map. so you can't go down that road. You can make it maybe with russian because it has separate map. But that will be hard because sms will not work. it has different layout. so you would need to edit russian map with different map, and then somhow remap all the letters so that russian typing matches the english. this may work but it sounds so complicated.... ;)

I have tried this before,trying it with a diffrent language wont work either because of the V3 looks for the same charecters in ASCII code.
