Hi all. So, ONE MORE DAY (3 in a row) I am working relentlessly to finish the programming of this V3 for my brother. he keeps calling to see where Im at with it.I cant WAIT to hand it over to him.
Heres where I am with it...
Ive flashed it with Apristels cingular Monster pack ,Looks cool, by the way.
There are no ringtones in it whatsoever,of course, and Im trying to get some in there with MPT 4.2.1a
However, the only folders I see on the phone side of MPTs window in "File transfer" are audio, pictures and video.
When I transfer MP3 clips to the audio folder, they are only available to play as songs on the phone.
The online forum for MPT is LAME. I cant get to a clue in there.
Do I need to create a folder on the phone? Do I do that with MPT? How so?
Or is it simply that I am not navigating through this phone(while in hand) as I need to, to assign a multimedia file to a ringtone?
Do I want to use MPT to acheive this at all?

I am wondering why I dont read anyone suggesting using the Bluetooth feature to load pics and ringtones? I use to use p2kman but not since I got a Bluetooth adapter for my PC. Plus one day out of the blue (no pund) my V3 didnt like it when I put the tones on there with p2k. Thats when I got the BT adapter and I have been using it ever since. Or maybe I am misunderstanding something.

Lene,

Now that the rings are on the phone, open up a p2k app and navigate to the audio directory, delete the two .db files and restart the phone. They should play as ringers then. Once they are working, using MPT will be the easiest. You shouldn't ever need to delete the .db files again, i dont know why its acting funky now

Thanks. Okay, I was having problems with PKtools before so I had abndoned trying to use it. I am not familiar with its use in the first place.I think its running ok now.
I chose "File manager" checked "use upload path" and clicked "upload". A directory box to PKtools on my computer pops up. Do I then just navigate to where my customized mp3s are and select them?

Geez I dunno. Chose "phone to pc' ,"update list" , I navigated to a/mobile/audio on the left pane to display files on the right. Right clicked the two .db files and chose delete . At the bottom left of program window it said " deleting. ok" .I restarted the phone and went to the left and updated the list to see what was there and, the db files still display on the right pane.

The phone generates the 2 .db files when it restarts. This was the first problem I ran into after I deleted ALL the audio files....plus all the screensavers, wallpapers, etc. I couldn't change any of the ring details until those files were deleted with the phone in Silent mode.

Set them manually in p2k tools then. I remember i had to do that once, to get in there.
