Phone connects fine to Moto phone tools and my RSD v3.3 works fine with my V3 but i cannot connect v3xx.

I connect phone and get USB Indicator on screen. Once I open RSD Lite, connection drops? What am I doing wrong!

Thanks in advance for any input.

Sounds like you may not have the latest drivers.

make sure to uninstall the V3 drivers first too. Can't have 2 phones installed on the same computer

I also have my V3xx and a V551 on the same computer and both seem to work fine with Phone Tools (in different profiles) and with RadioCOmm 11.1.0. My OS is XP pro SP2

I have a cingular branded v3xx and RSD lite reads it fine. Do you have the Moto 2.6.2 drivers? If not follow the link to Moto Developer site through the download section.

thats right, mpt holds on to the drivers for a while after closing the window. i have the v3 and v3xx both communicating with my comp running xp home sp1 and as long as i am selective in the programs i run, or rather the order i run them, its fine. i only use MPT AFTER i mess with RSD, p2k, etc, as it hangs on to drivers. even so, sometimes after i close the lid of my laptop, when i open the lid, i hear the driver sound disconnect (ding-dong) that windows makes, but based on the first post, i think you want to use flash and backup 3, instead of RSD, unles of course you know what your doing and are flashing skins or something simple like the java loader and things like that.
