just for the sake of experimentation i decided to try flashing the 8.29 bootloader back onto the phone, and it worked. Now i can confirm my theory for downgrading the bootloader to 7.d0 by repeating the original process. Dont have the time to downgrade right now, but i will post the results later. Anyway, for the mean time here is how i sucessfully flashed the 8.29 BL back onto my phone....

I had made a backup of the bootloader with p2keasy4.1, saved as BL829.bin and a full backup with F&B3
All steps completed with p2k easy tools4.1
1: Click Repair Tab and check box Full PDS Repair Zone and do selected Job
2: Dont Complete the PDS repair, when the program asks to power on phone... Don't.
3: Unplug data cable from phone, then click the OK button. After PDS repair fails plug data cable in and wait for Windows to detect.
(phone is now in Engineering)
4: Flash the backup bin file BL829.bin(created earlier using p2keasy)
5: Once flash is complete, flash the original full backup made with F&B3, then restart phone manually.
Congratulations, you now upgraded to bootloader 8.29 :)

Dunno why anyone would want to do this, other than me, but here is the guide anyway:thumbsup:

OK here is the rest of the guide for downgrading BL8.29 to 7.d0(again all steps with p2keasy4.1)

First make a full backup of your phone using F&B3 and the 8.29BL profile
1: Disassemble phone, find correct Testpoint location and do the TP.
2: Select phone model RAZRv3, click Repair tab and check box Full PDS Repair Zone, click Do Job
3: Dont Complete the PDS repair, when the program asks to power on phone... Don't.
4: Unplug data cable from phone, then click the OK button. After PDS repair fails plug data cable in and wait for Windows to detect.
(phone is now in Engineering)
5: Flash the 7.d0 Downgrader. Process should complete sucessfully without any hanging or errors
6: Make sure phone is in bootloader mode, and flash any v3(R374) MP
Thats it!! Your phone is now free of this difficult bootloader and ready for unlock:)

For those interested in backing up the 8.29 bootloader:
TP phone, select Read tab, check Read Bootloader, select a save destination and name for the file adding .bin to it, and Do Selected Job. Enjoy!! :D
