Motorola MILESTONE (aka GSM Verizon DROID) confirmed for O2 Germany
Cnet reports that according to a leaked O2 Germany document the GSM European version may only be days away. The document lists the Motorola MILESTONE – with a shot of what’s definitely the Motorola DROID – as coming to the German carrier in the week beginning November 9th 2009; in fact there’s already a page for the MILESTONE on the O2 Germany site.
http://motorola-android.com/wp-conte...ne-540x384.png The document itself is aimed at business customers, but there’s little reason to presume that the MILESTONE won’t be available to regular buyers too. Pricing – again, for businesses – is €404.20 before taxes ($595) which we’re assuming is a contract-free cost; as for the product page, so far there’s nothing but a shot of the phone and its name (click on the image on the right for full-size). It’s unknown whether the Motorola MILESTONE is an exclusive to O2, or will be available on other carriers. There’s currently no sign of it on O2 UK’s site either. The phone will launch in the US – as the Verizon DROID by Motorola – on November 6th. SOURCE |

Ah, thanks. :)
Ok, I have a really really really n00bish question. It says this: Quote:
According to wikipedia: Quote:
And how about GPS? I don't really care about 3G data. For data, I would just use the wifi. |
Yes, almost all phones now a days have 1800/1900 for sure, any phone that supports those bands can work on tmobile, AT&T uses 850. With those specs that phone should work on any network around the world (except maybe Japan networks...)
|
How about the GPS part, though? That's the part I wasn't sure of. I don't know much about the technology.
I know the phone won't work on T-Mobile's 3G. But I mostly hang out in wifi-rich areas, so I'm not as worried about that. |
Depending if GPS can be used with WiFi or 3G and if your provider "provides" of 3G conenctivity, that if i'm not wrong
@Omar That's what i was refering on other post, can't remember where lol |
I think it has the Beta of Motonav, as a testversion, so no google maps but aGPS as well as sGPS
. But that is not clear to me yet, :( |
Problem is no US 3G.:(
From Motorola Tech specs... 3G WCDMA/900/2100, GSM 850/900/1800/1900, HSPA, GPRS Class 12, WiFi |
That's ok with me. Wifi is awesome :) What bands are used for GPS?
|
It seems to be running in android 2.0 and the spec are beautiful and the whole interface seems the same. Hopefully i get my Dream phone up and running that OS
|
AFAIK GPS is same around the world but if its aGPS then T-Mobile has to support it. But I thought that T-Mobile and AT&T will have their own version of Droid in neartime. T-Mobile US 3G band is on 1700 and GPRS on 850/1900.
|
Maybe T-Mobile will have it soon, it's hard to say. But AT&T? With that ad campaign against the iPhone, I have a hard time imagining that the iPhone's carrier is going to want to pick that phone up.
