Guide to Java on K1m
Here is the tutorial I promised.
http://www.uwm.edu/~btermers/K1M_Jav...ed-6-21-07.pdf
Download the monster pack that you need to flash with from here,
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9VKQK0RJ --Thanks ssego
I will keep it updated as I find new things and as you all post of easier/better ways of doing this.
If you find any errors or confusing things in the tutorial let me know and I will fix it. If you are new to flashing phones I wouldn't try this until some more experienced people do to clear up any confusing items in the guide.
Thanks,
Briggsadmin
If anyone with a USCC k1m could make a backup of all of their seems then send it to me that would be great.

If you'd like to remove games/apps the correct way (without having to delete the files) you can do the following:
- Load up BitPim and copy the selector.utf to your PC
- Use a hex editor and open the selector.utf
- Replace all occurances of "preinstalled=y" with "preinstalled=n"
- Overwrite the selector.utf on your phone with the one you modified.
You now have the "Remove" option available for any apps/games you've installed (including the 3 demo games that come with the Bell software).
Good luck.

this works with any k1m.
You do not enable java app loader. Follow the guide to load java apps on the phone.

I was talking to a tech for my carrier today, and he said that there is a way to get Java working without flashing to Bell. While thinking aobut how that would work, I came up with only two possibilities: Transferring the kjava folder from the Bell filesystem onto my phone and finding the seems that enable kjava in the menu, or leaving things alone because this guy is obviously retarded. So now I ask you guys the question: What is different between the USCC firmware and the Bell firmware? Does the bell firmware simply have the kjava program and an mua that shows java in the menu, or is it something trickier than that?
