Nice thing xplorer. I had my V3re unlock via subsidy code and it's branded to a carrier that I no longer use. Is it possible to unbrand it (mostly change wake up and shutdown animation and also change a coulpe of icons branded to this carrier)?
Thanks!

Working for anyone???
|
(Ignore this post, read the one above, I solved the puzzle!)
I was unable to get this to work for my V3Re R3442A_G_OE.
I modified the FB3 profile for V3Re_06 to include the CG8, but I suspect the code boundaries are not correct for this version of V3R !!
If you explore around some of the other Profiles for FB3, the CG8 group is closely aligned to some of the other groups, but using the recommended CG8 settings from the L9 profile doesn't work and the code alignment doesn't make sense anyway.
Anyway, I can successfully save a "CG8" block now, but it doesn't contain any image file info that the Boot Screen replacer can see, at least using the recommended offset for HelloMoto of
[V3Re R3442A]
HelloMoto=0000000001
in the offset.ini file for BootScreen Replacer!!

Death To Hello Moto AT LAST!!!
After playing with the instructions and analyzing the CG code boundries for other phone models, I finally found the location of the HelloMoto Screen image for the R3442A version of the V3Re
I have attached a very thorough guide to this post that hopefully will allow you all to create you own custom startup screens!
Read my attached Guide, and if you all think it is worthy, and I can figure out how, I can (or the moderators can) add this guide to Our growing knowledge database in the Guides section just for us lucky (?) owners of the V3Re !!
I'm getting pretty comfortable with modding this thing now. Thus far, I have been able to add custom startup animations and sound clips, Replaced my bootscreen with one of my own, customized my Menus, added menu items, been able to maintain the MyFaves functionality and tweaked numerous SEEMs!
I am probably ready to release a new Monster Pack, but am trying to decide on a central theme!! Any suggestions of what you guys would like to see? Right now my phone is very personalized like I like it ("Butters" from Southpark bootscreen and startup animation pic and sounds and flilp screen images, StarTrek ringtones,Metallik skin,) but this has been a cool journey since I have only been modding since December!!
Please review my attached guide, try the mod (after doing a full backup before hand I hope!) and give me some feedback. A few "Thanks" would be nice too!

Hey jklong, great work on the guide. You've really outdone yourself on this one! When I put down my old R374, and get back to playing with my V3re I'm going to give this a try.

Must Change F&B3 settings to work!
I just needed to reiterate that while 98Exloders initial post in this thread was what lead me to get this to work ( thanks 98 ) the suggested change to F&B3's settings in the linked thread do not appear to work for saving the correct block of memory for the CG8 on the R3442A versions of the V3Re!
You have to make sure you follow my guide and change the CG8 settings in the F&B3 profile to the numbers I listed, or else you will be saving a block of memory that does not contain the HelloMoto screen! (in fact, it doesn't contain any images if you use the originally posted numbers)
I post this just to explain that my last post was not just to provide the guide, but also to provide the correct modifications to get the correct memory area for CG8.

Thank you, I don't want to insult anyone who likes the HELLOMOTO screen. But I'm a little old to have Bozo'z Circus on my cell phone. You'd think they would at least give an adult an option to change it to something less childish.

I'd like to try jklong03's mod to change my boot screen, but I can't download the attachment to see how to do it. Would a mod please check the link or re-up the file? Thanks!

Here is the link!
Slasher,
Here is the link to the wiki page I made of my guide. I guess the moderators just are too swamped to add it to the Guides menu yet!
http://modmymoto.com/wiki/index.php/...lloMoto_Screen
Good luck and give me some feedback on the guide if you feel so inclined!

HelloMoto RIP
|
Great guide, good work. Must say that first time I restored the CG8 to the phone, F&B wouldn't play. Found if I wrote the unmodified CG8 straight back, modofied the CG8 and wrote it to the phone again in the same session it worked every time. Might just be me... However, it certainly seems that jklong03 rocks.
Rocky.
