This guide will teach you how to change the keypad lock & unlock keys.
Things you will need.
- RSA removed MP. (You can make one using Kirklesat's guide available
here)
-
XVI32
-
Random SHX
-
Flash & Backup 3.
1st Step:
Split the RSA Removed MP using RandomSHX.
Get Random SHX, open it, extract bin files from SHX, choose the RSA removed MP.
You will get a new folder named "Extracted Bin" with some files. We'll be using the *2.bin file.
2nd Step:
Fire up XVI32 and let's do some seem edits to the firmware!
Open up XVI32, go to file, open, choose the file I mentioned earlier (the *2.bin file).
3rd Step:
Then search, find hex string.
For locking keys:
14 00 0A 00 26
The value of the two red colored boxes decides which keys are used to lock the keypad. 14= Menu & 0A= *. So by changing these values, we'll change which keys are used to lock the keypad. You can refer to the
Keymapping guide for reference on all key's value.
I may recommend to change the 0A to 14, which is menu button. So to lock the keypad, Menu + Menu.
4th Step:
Same deal, but now for unlocking. We'll do this in two search. Search one is for the first button and search two is for the second button.
First Button:
28 14 D1 00 24
The value of the red colored box decides which key is used.
Second button:
28 0A D1 00 24
The value of the red colored box decides which key is used.
I may recommend to change the 0A to 0F which is right soft button. So to unlock keypad, Menu + Right soft button.
When you're done, file, save and close XVI32.
4th Step:
So, we finished seem editing the firmware. So let's recompile the MP with RandomSHX.
Open RandomSHX, create SHX file from Bins, choose the only *.LST file in the extracted folder from earlier. This may take a while, wait until it says complete.
5th Step:
Fire up F&B 3 and let's flash this baby! Choose write data tab, active phone profile: L6, select file: Choose the SHX file made by RandomSHX in the extracted bin folder. Write data! Wait until it's done, phone will automaticly restart.
Note: Not all combination of keys are supported by the firmware. Using the same combination of keys to lock & unlock the keypad does not work either.
Enjoy!
