This tutorial will teach you how to customize your mma_ucp so that you can have 9 and 12 icon menus in your preferred order on the l7e. If you have customized an mma_ucp with mma convert before, you do not have to read any further. Its done the same way.

What you?ll need:

mma convert.

P2K Menu Editor

P2K Tools 3- Make sure its the latest version.

Lets begin.

Open P2K Tools 3 and select P2K mode.

Your phone will disconnect and then reconnect. Once its reconnected, push refresh.

P2K Tools will read the files from your phone. Just sit back and let it do its thing.

Once all your files are read, navigate to a/ mobile/ system and find the file named mma_ucp. This is your menu order. Highlight that file and select download from menu bar.

Save it somewhere easy for you to find. I recommend creating a folder for it so you can distinguish which one is the original. I?m saving mine in Original mma. Once you save it, you can minimize P2K Tools 3.

Open mma convert.

Select Open mma_ucp and then navigate to where you saved your mma_ucp file from your phone.

Once you have it opened, select Convert.

Save it as something that will distinguish it from the original mma. I am saving mine as converted mma. Once you are done with that, you can close mma convert.

Lets stop and take a look at certain items in the P2K Menu Editor do.

1. These are the items in your menu already. Most of these are customizable.

2. This is where you can change the items in your menu. You can find any item that is supported for your phone in here.

3. The Insert Item box comes in very handy if you are making a 12 icon menu from a 9 icon mma. By clicking this, you add items to your menu. They show up like <???> on your menu itself. Look at number 6 to see an example of what I mean.

4. Submenus are great for when you want to group items together. This button creates submenus for you.

5. Delete is always self explanatory. Be careful with this.

Now open P2K Menu Editor. We are going to be modifying the mma_ucp file to have the correct settings that we want.

Select Open file. Navigate to where you saved your converted mma and select it. You will then have a menu tree that looks something like the one below.

Use the controls in P2k Menu Editor to modify your menu.  You can create new menu items and sub menu items, or delete items you do not want.  The drop down box lets you choose what your new menu items will be.

Once you have a menu you like, click save and select save as.  Then save your new menu (mine is named menu) in a separate folder, my folder is called "12 icon menu". Once its saved, you can close Menu Editor. You are done with that.

Now open mma convert again.

Like before, click "open mma_ucp." This time open up the menu file you made in P2k Menu Editor and just saved in the last step.  I will be opening menu from my 12 icon menu folder.

Select Convert and save the file as mma_ucp. I saved mine in a different folder named Final mma.

You can now close mma convert. You are done with it.

Now open P2K Tools 3 again. Navigate to the a/mobile/system directory and click upload.

Navigate to your customized mma_ucp and select it. Then click open. Once its loaded, restart your phone and you are done. Enjoy your custom menu.

Alternately, if P2K Tools 3 will not see the mma_ucp file when trying to load to your phone, use the program M-Explorer.
