There are newer ways of having the 12 icon menu.
For example, if you use Skins Manager, dont edit the SKI file, just patch it before uploading it to the phone (put a chec on the STANT's 3x4 Menu Type 1 or 2.

For the RAZR V3i, SLVR L7 and others, you need to Google MMA Converter by Einer Meiner to convert the mma_ucp file and use P2K Menu Editor 2.3

This guide will show you how to get a 12 icon menu in just a few simple steps. Let’s get this guide started.

We are going to use three programas to make this: P2K Menu Editor, Menu Maker and the P2K program of your choice (I recommend P2KTools).

First of all, you connect your phone to your PC, and using the P2K program of your choice, you download the *.SKI file from the skin that you mod and the mma_ucp files from the system folder.

After that, you open the ski file with Menu Maker, change it to menu 3x4, click to "Fix and save".

Now, modify the mma_ucp file with the P2K Menu Editor, adding the 3 new icons.

To do this, click “Open Menu” and “Open from file”.

Then, clic “Insert Item” 3 times, in order to create the 3 new icons. Three options should appear. The look like this:

Select one click “Menu Item Name”, and select the options to be displayed.

Repeat this action with the other two options.

Once you’re done, click “Save” and “Save Menu”.

After that, you upload the *.SKI to its correspondant folder in the skin directory, and you upload the mma_ucp file back to the system folder. Restart your phone.

And that's all. Enjoy your 12 icon menu. Your only problem will be deciding which new icons to place...
